History will be made at Avalon Airport Oval on Sunday afternoon.
For the first time, either Werribee Districts or Point Cook will lift the WRFL Division 1 premiership trophy for the first time.
Districts will enter as strong favourites having dropped just one game all season.
Meanwhile Point Cook is looking to complete a remarkable turnaround after finishing second last in 2022.
Here’s a look at the players who will make a difference.
Alex Alabakis, Werribee Districts
One of the unsung heroes of Districts’ line-up. His coach Chris Gilham can consistently rely on him to get a job done.
Daniel Burton, Point Cook
Since returning to the club, he has been nothing short of sensational. Helped control the preliminary final with his presence in the ruck and also around the ground.
Nicholas Buykx, Point Cook
The heart and soul of the Bulldogs. Fresh off being named captain in the WRFL Division 1 Team of the Year, Buykx will play an important role for his side down back.
Luke Dahlhaus, Point Cook
The former Western Bulldog and Geelong forward has put his injury issues from earlier in the season behind him. His form in recent weeks has been his best in Point Cook colours.
Simon Deery, Point Cook
A recruit out of Gippsland at the start of the season. The experienced head will most likely play on either Rainbow or Trent Lee.
Tim Jenkins, Werribee Districts
One of the star recruits of the off-season. The former St Albans midfielder has fit in perfectly into the yellow and black.
Ben McMahon, Werribee Districts
Arguably the most dominant ruckman in the competition. His year has been hampered by injury but McMahon is primed at the right time to be a difference.
Lachlan Rainbow, Werribee Districts
One of the leading forwards in the competition, Rainbow has 42 goals for the season. A powerful presence inside forward 50.
Max Rouvray, Point Cook
What an exciting season it has been from the rising star. Won the league goalkicking and now has more than 40 for the season.
Dillon Viojo-Rainbow, Werribee Districts
The reigning league best and fairest has enjoyed another solid season. Continued to kick goals in the second half of the season and could easily be named best on ground.
