Western Region Football League outfit Tarneit is searching for a new coach for the first time in five years.
President Darren Connelly confirmed the Division 3 club had parted ways with Mark Elso, who took over as coach in 2016.
Elso departs having led the Titans to finals in each of his four seasons at the helm.
Tarneit advanced the preliminary final in Elso’s first year before losing to Parkside in the grand final the following season.
In 2018, the club appeared a genuine flag contender after finishing the home-and-away rounds in second position before suffering a straight-sets finals exit.
The Titans were eliminated from the premiership race in the opening week last season.
Elso was set to steer them this year before the campaign was canned amid the coronavirus crisis.
“The club thanks Mark for his efforts over the past five years and we wish him well for the future,” Connelly said in a statement
“We have built a strong base over the past five years and 2020 would have seen our club field under-18s for the first time. This would have given us a side in all age junior age groups for our mixed and junior boys.
“Thanks to council and State Government funding, we will see lights on our front oval and a larger social room for the 2021 season, which will assist our club to continue its growth.”
Division 1 clubs Deer Park and Yarraville-Seddon are also searching for new coaches for 2021.
Tarneit is set to advertise for a new mentor in coming weeks.
