Williamstown will almost find it almost to leave Joel Ottavi out of its side next weekend after he produced a dominant display at local level.

The former Essendon VFL forward booted 17 goals as East Point recorded a thumping 84-point win over Melton South in the Ballarat league.

Saturday was just Ottavi’s third appearance for his home club this season having kicked seven goals in the previous two games.

The 25-year-old has played six VFL games this season, booting 10 goals with his best performance a four-goal haul against the Northern Bullants in round one.

East Point also handed a senior debut to Joshua Carlyle-Marks at the weekend after an impressive season at under 19 level.

South Bendigo forward continues incredible form

Kaiden Antonowicz is one of the most in-form players across country Victoria right now.

The South Bendigo star booted 10 goals on Saturday in his side’s 38-point win over the Paul Chapman-coached Kyneton.

Antonowicz now has 27 majors in his last three games to take his season tally to 55.

But he still remains seven behind Strathfieldsaye’s Lachlan Sharp in the race for the competition goalkicking award.

Sharp booted eight of his own in the Storm’s big win over Maryborough.

Great Western forwards have a monster day out

There was no stopping Damon Folkes (12 goals) and Samuel Cocks (10 goals) as Great Western recorded a thumping 221-point win in the Mininera and District league.

In a day out against Caramut, Folkes shot nine majors clear at the top of the competition’s goalkicking charts with Cocks now having 28 for the season.

Adam Tipungwuti kicked six of his own for the winners.

Goals galore in Central Murray

Brent Arho made a welcome return to the Nyah Nyah West United line-up in their Central Murray clash against the struggling Tooleybuc Manangatang.

The key forward was in sensational form, booting 12 goals and being named his side‘s best in a 119-point win – just the Demons’ third for the season.

In his last outing for the club last month, Arho kicked eight against Lake Boga.

But he wasn‘t the only one to bring his kicking boots at the weekend.

Elsewhere in the league, Douglas Palmer kicked 11 goals for Woorinen in a 73-point win against Koondrook Barham.

Monster 311-point win

Maryborough Castlemaine District league leaders Trentham was at its devastating best on Saturday as they recorded a thumping 311-point win over Maryborough Rovers.

Trentham remain undefeated at the top of the ladder alongside Harcourt.

Donald pair each land seven

There were two teammates celebrating seven-goal efforts in the North Central league.

Donald‘s Leigh Burke and Bryan Beckham had 14 majors between them in their side’s monster 137-point win over Wycheproof Narraport.

The Royal Blues delighted the home crowd, kicking 27.12 (174) for the match.

Across the league, the biggest individual haul was eight goals from Wedderburn‘s Ben Dearaugo.

The Redbacks were 71-point winners over St Arnaud.

Cutting through the opposition

Traralgon Tyers United forward Jayden Cutts had every reason to celebrate at the weekend after booting 10 goals in his side’s big win over Gormandale.

Cutts took his season tally to 21 goals as the Bombers recorded their sixth win of the season.

Bradley Kelleher was equally as impressive booting seven majors.

Ten of the best

Jay Kirwood did just about everything right on Saturday as Jeparit Rainbow secured a big 171-point win over Laharum.

The star forward finished the day with 10 goals as the Storm made it four straight wins since footy’s resumption in mid-June.

Kirwood now has 33 goals for the season.
