The Falcons trailed by five goals at quarter-time against one of the fancies for a finals berth and struggled to get back into the game from there.

The Spurs went on to win, 22.19 (151) to 2.2 (14).

Chanelle Slater and Lisa Walshe kicked a goal apiece for Knox while Jasmin Harrison, Julia Baker, Rebecca Pearce, Slater and Claire Mckenna were named the best on a tough day at the office.

Next for Knox is a trip to Casey Fields on Sunday for a clash with the eighth-placed Cranbourne
