Chirnside Park remains unbeaten at the top of the Victorian Women’s Football League Division 2 ladder after a thumping home win over the St Kilda Sharks at Kimberley Reserve on Saturday.
Chirnside made it three wins from three matches to start the new season, when it was merciless in holding the visiting Sharks scoreless while piling on 9.17, to win by 71 points.
Though a little wayward early, kicking 1.5 in the opening term and 3.10 by the half, Chirnside straightened up after the long break and did it in a canter.
Hayley Bullas led the way with three goals, backed by two from Leah Oswald.
Meghan Stephens, Carly Robson, Kim Watson and Kathryn Priestley all kicked singles.
Jayde Van Dyk, Robson, Rachael Palmer, Lauren Howell, Bullas and Watson earnt the nod as Chirnside Park’s best half-dozen on the day.
Chirnside will be back at Kimberley Reserve again this week, when it plays host to sixth-placed Mordialloc on Saturday.
