Boosted by star recruits, the Frankston Tigersharks have begun the superules season with a bang.

The Sharks stormed home with five unaswered goals in the last quarter to beat Beaconsfield 13.10 (88) to 11.6 (72) at Perc Allison Reserve on Sunday.

Since moving to SkyBus Stadium (Frankston Park), the club has picked up some great recruits including Chris Fortnam (ex-Dolphins, 3 x premiership player at Seaford), Paul Tredrea (Knox 300 gamer) and Dave Sheahan (ex-Springvale VFL and Western Bulldogs).

Beaconsfield jumped out of the blocks with three quick goals before the Tigersharks started to work back into the game.

However, inaccuracy cost them and they went in at quarter time 5.1 to 1.5 down.

In the second quarter the quality of Fortnam, Cam Leopold and Shane Urbans in the centre started to tell and with Brad Wakeling and Scott Thomas providing a dual focal point up front, they kicked five goals for the quarter to take a six-oint lead at half-time.

The third quarter was a repeat of the first with Beaconsfield kicking the first four goals to grab a two-goal lead at the last break. The final quarter was all Frankston as they stormed home with another five goal quarter to win by 16 points.

Best players included Treadrea, who dominated off the half back line, Wakeling with seven goals, Fortnam, Leopold and Matt Shaw.

The reserves won 7.10 (52) to 2.2 (14), the Over 45s went down 13.9 to 3.4 and the Over 50s lost 10.9 to 3.2.
