Not even a spate of injuries has been able to stop Seaford’s scorching start to the SEWF Premier season.

The Tigerettes are undefeated after four rounds, and sit atop the ladder with a percentage of 453.

On Saturday they thrashed newcomer Frankston Dolphins 10.8 (68) to nil at SkyBus Stadium to celebrate co-captain Bron Tilley’s 150th game in style.

Brilliant Bron, a former SEWF team of the year captain, slotted a goal and was named in the Rettes’ best players.

Seaford made a snappy start, kicking four goals in the opening quarter after some slick team play.

Lauren Field and Jessica Johnston were lively up forward, finishing with three and two goals respectively.

Like salt and pepper, hard-hitting defender former Sydneysider Michelle Podnecky was in everything for Seaford.

Kim Ebb, Kaea Tua, Alexandra Cuss and Sarah Fraser-Jones were also in dominating form for the Rettes.

For Frankston, Skye Haslem, Lily Van raay, Zali Mayall, Shania Gammaldi and Jessica Stepanavicius tried hard.

Seaford, coached by Michelle Densley, has beaten Eastern Devils (by 38 points), St Kilda Sharks (five), Coburg Lions (48) and Frankston (68) so far this season.

Densley said her experienced side “run themselves’’.

“We’ve got a great side, a really experienced side,’’ Densley said.

“It kind of makes my job easy but also I don’t feel like I’m coaching when they all know what they’re doing.’’

Densley said Seaford’s strength was its backline, led by Leah Olsen at centre half back.

“We’ve got probably the most experienced backline that I’ve seen in women’s football,’’ she said.

“I’ve got Kim Ebb, who played for the Bulldogs, Leah (Olsen), she was captain of the Saints VFL side, Monty (Podnecky) and I’ve got Alex Cuss who has been playing for the Hawks in the VFL as well, so they’re my back flanks and back pockets. So, really experienced.

“And because we play a really attacking game — I don’t believe in playing defensively — last week Alex kicked a goal because I like them playing right up.’’

It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for Seaford, though.

Interleague and team of the year player Sarah Astone suffered an ACL tear against Eastern Devils in the opening round.

Tegan Young also did her knee on the same day.

Lindsey Goodman broke her ankle, while newcomer Courtney Aughtie, an exciting ruck prospect, suffered ligament damage in her ankle last week.

The Tigerettes tackle Mornington at Belvedere Reserve at 2pm on Saturday.
