Old Xaverians has received a mighty boost on the eve of the Victorian Amateur Football Association season, locking away former state league star Jesse Palmer.
Palmer was set to play at St Kevin’s but had a change of heart and wanted to play with friend Sam Fisher who is also a recruit to Old Xavs.
Palmer played three AFL games with Port Adelaide and was selected in three Team of the Year’s across his time in the VFL and WAFL.
The 27-year-old played at Swan Districts in the WAFL last year where he chalked up 46 career games and took out the club’s leading goal kicker award in 2021.
Palmer joins Fisher, Jeffrey Gobbels, Stirling Phipps-Parsons, Xavier Austin and Nick Guiney as pre-season inclusions at Old Xavs.
Old Xavs finished sixth with an 8-10 record last year and face one of the toughest tasks in Premier footy this weekend when it travels to St Kevin’s.
