The big names that made the June 30 clearance deadline

Some of the big names who secured last minute local footy moves last week could make their debuts or returns tomorrow. Here are the best moves.

The local footy clearance window officially slammed shut on Friday night.

We’ve broken down the best of the late moves.

MADI ANDREWS, St Kilda City to Dromana

Andrews joins Dromana, the undefeated ladder leaders of the MPFNL, to play with his brother. While the left-footer, a two-time league best and fairest winner, is a huge boost for the Tigers, he is expected to miss a fair chunk of the season.

JAY BRUNO, Murrumbeena to St Kilda City

Bruno is among the heavy list of Saints players returning to the club to assist them through the remainder of the season.

BROCK CASTREE, The Basin to Powelltown

A former SANFL premiership player, Castree is a huge boost to Powelltown. The 28-year-old played nine matches for The Basin this season.

DYLAN CONWAY to Yarrawonga

The Steve Johnson coached Pigeons made one of the biggest moves at the deadline with the signing of the two-time VFL premiership star.

NICK CUNNINGHAM, Winston Grange to Hurstbridge

A league best-and-fairest in Queensland, Cunningham arrives in the hopes of boosting Hurstbridge’s finals hopes. Expected to play a big role in the ruck.

JAY DISHINGTON, Doveton Eagles to Skye

Dishington departs the Eagles after playing eight matches this season. He was mentioned in the best on two occasions, including as recently as last match.

AARON EDWARDS, St Kilda City to Pines

The ex-AFL player returns to former club Pines after a selection of his teammates departed. He still leads the SFNL Division 1 goal kicking with 39.

LEVI GREENWOOD, Balwyn to Deer Park

After just four games at the Eastern league club, Greenwood is seeking a return to the Lions as they chase the Division 1 Essendon District league premiership.

SHAUN HAMPSON, Old Xaverians to Bundoora

It’s unlikely the former AFL ruckman plays for Bundoora but his name popped up on the clearances list earlier this week.

HISHAM KERBATIEH, Deer Park to Sunshine

Back at his former club after just a handful of games. Will immediately improve the Roos’ midfield.

JOSIAH KYLE, Devon Meadows to Hallam

The ex-Saint finds his way to Hallam after a short stint with Devon Meadows. He left St Kilda halfway through last season to finish with Doveton.

SHAUN McMILLAN, Templestowe to Seville

A powerfully-built key position player that has plenty of upside. He is just 23 years of age.

BEN REDDICK, Strathmore to Northcote Park

After just one game for the Mores this year, the Coburg VFL-listed player is on his way to Division 2 of the Northern league.

JAYLON THORPE, West Preston-Lakeside to Fitzroy Stars

The Box Hill star has aligned with the Northern league Division 3 club for the rest of the season. A family link helped secure the move.
