Moore, expected to be drafted by Collingwood with pick No.8, kicked two goals and flashed his athleticism in the Oakleigh Chargers’ 47-point win over Calder Cannons — 17.15 (117) to 11.4 (70).

The 199cm forward’s soaring mark deep in the third quarter over Cannons defender Reilly O’Brien and subsequent goal was one of the game highlights, and a clear indication of the 18-year-old’s talent.

Chargers coach Mick Stinear was full of praise for Moore (14 disposals, seven marks) after the game.

“He (Moore) is a really mature guy,” Stinear said.

“He’s been one who has led form the front in terms of putting the team first, and he’s got a great ability to put (the media focus) aside and focus on the team and the job.”

Toby McLean was crowned best on ground with his 21-disposal, nine-mark and two-goal effort.

McLean, a draft potential, was influential in Oakleigh’s second-quarter surge.

Jordan De Goey was also superb for the Chargers and was lively across four quarters, while Josh Halsall found plenty of the ball and showcased his pace along the wings.

Daniel Houston kicked three goals of his own, including a pinpoint drop punt tight on the boundary late in the match.

Calder was dealt a cruel blow moments before the finale with young guns Peter Wright and Damien Cavka late withdrawals.

Skipper Touk Miller was best afield for the Cannons.

Stinear, who lauded his team’s intensity after quarter-time, said this year’s finals series was a great chance for his crop to prove themselves to AFL recruiters.

“I think the advantage of being able to play finals and securing a double chance, it allows more of an opportunity for guys to play at their best,” Stinear said.

“I think there have been a lot of guys who have taken their opportunity.

“It’s out of our hands now and hopefully some AFL clubs have found what they’re looking for.”
