Cheltenham coach Justin Pickering spoke ahead of a crowded room after the Rosellas’ win over Dingley this year.

The Dingoes and Rosellas just played in a fierce contest at Jack Barker Oval — a contest that resembled a final and was only decided by a five-goal burst from the hosts.

Pickering made note of Cheltenham’s building rivalry with Cranbourne but ranked it second-best as he claimed “long live the Cheltenham-Dingley rivalry”.

The two have met in countless battles, including the Rosellas’ first of four consecutive grand final appearances in 2019.

And the rivalry is set to add another chapter on Sunday, when the Southern league’s most powerful clubs meet once again in another Division 1 decider.
