Skye’s “favourite” son has stepped away.
Senior coach Aaron Pacey has relinquished his role to commit further to his work and family.
Pacey captained the Bombers for eight consecutive years and played in a premiership before joining Tyabb in the Mornington Peninsula league as the club’s coach.
He returned to Skye 18 months ago and re-signed with the club in August.
Bombers president Michael Kane said he was sad to see Pacey pass on the role but understands how important life outside footy is.
“We have always said to all our players and coaches that work and family are No.1,” he said.
“It’s not ideal but we have Ben Walker and Paddy Cooke to run all the pre-season, we have still put up an expression of interest for external candidates.
“Aaron was the favourite son; he drove the culture and what it meant to wear the jumper.”
Skye’s has re-signed all of its senior players and is tipped to have six new recruits on the way.
The Bombers were busting at the seams the season gone with a whopping 107 registered players.
