Mordialloc is in search of its next senior coach after the club parted ways with experienced mentor Brendon Moore.

Moore was told on Tuesday night, approximately 24 hours after the club dismissed rumours he had been, or was soon to be, sacked.

As a player, Moore played seven games for Essendon and was a champion in the VFA for Frankston and Pines in the Mornington Peninsula league.

His Southern league coaching experience begun with Cheltenham as an assistant before landing Mordialloc’s top job in 2020.

Navigating through Covid and a young list, Moore led the Bloodhounds for 48 games.

With the addition of ex-AFL forward Mitch Brown in the off-season, there was expectation Mordialloc would improve on its 5-13 record from 2022.

The Bloodhounds were showing immense improvement at the time of Brown’s season-ending shoulder injury, having won three consecutive games and testing second-placed Dingley.

But injuries eventually took its toll on Moore’s men, with the Bloodhounds finishing the home-and-away season in poor fashion with three successive 100-point losses.

On Thursday, Moore kept his response short.

“I am disappointed with outcome but still keen to coach,” he said.

More to come.
