Frankston Dolphins has searched for and secured its next coach after playing-coach Richard Mathers stepped down from his role.
Mathers, who led the club to two successive grand final appearances, had time left on his contract but had to part ways with the club due to work commitments.
He has since been replaced by Taylor Stratton, who has extensive experience in the Mornington Peninsula league.
Stratton had his first coaching gig at Crib Point in 2016 before and after several strong seasons at Hastings.
The left-footer played 13 matches at Hastings this season where he was named among the Blues’ best in the final three rounds of the year.
Stratton was a Frankston Dolphins junior.
In a statement, the Dolphins thanked Mathers for his contribution to the club.
“Rich leaves the club with a wonderful legacy, having overseen two very successful seasons and taking our senior team to consecutive grand finals, most recently in the club’s first season in Division 3,” it said.
