The search is finally over.
East Brighton’s pursuit for a coach is complete with the Vampires signing its formerly inaugural women’s coach Don Angus for season 2023.
The club out of Hurlingham Park was bursting at the seams with numbers but couldn’t find a coach to steer the ship.
That quest is now complete and it couldn’t make club president Emma Stuart happier.
“It’s absolutely wonderful, very exciting,” she said.
“We’re a very different club to what he came into, we’re a young playing group.
“He’s very into his fitness, so I am sure he will use that to the best of the girls’ ability and get them nice and fit.
“It’s very exciting to have him back and we welcome him with open arms, the feedback of where he has been previously has been nothing but positive so the girls are in for an exciting ride.”
After being the Vampires’ first coach back in 2017 and having coached women’s football for a number of years since, Stuart is expecting Angus to bring a wealth of understanding to a young group.
“We’re expecting structure and professionalism,” she said.
“Something the girls have been missing is a coach that has coached before, most of our coaches have been volunteers up until recently.
“To have an accredited coach that has coached women in the last few jobs he has had, that is very exciting for our girls.
“Don was very enthusiastic and excited to be working alongside Josh Stuart, who is stepping down from coaching to assistant coaching – it will be his third year involved with the girls.”
