Classy midfielders, sons of ex-AFL stars, tenacious defenders and loads of X Factor...the 2024 Victorian 12 and under boys football team has it all.

Oh, and this Big V outfit has an abundance of left footers.

Victorian selectors have named a squad of 27, including four emergencies, for the School Sport Australian Football Championships in Geelong from August 4-11.

Victoria is defending champions after going through the 2023 titles in Albury undefeated.

Big V coach Leigh McQuillen says this side is packed full of talent.

“This is a very different side to last year,’’ he said.

“Not as big but probably deeper through the midfield.

“It would be great to go back to back and we’ll give ourselves every opportunity.’’

Here’s a rundown of all 27 players:

Cooper Andrew, St Mary’s School

Good size. Left footer with massive depth in his kick. Will play forward, has great hands and is also a run and carry player. Kicks goals and sets them up too.
