Reservoir has secured star ruckman Nick Gregson for the 2021 NFL Division 3 season.
Gregson will reunite with Mustangs coach Jason Hamilton, who he previously played under at Braybrook and Tasmanian club Spreyton.
The Tasmanian big man was fortunate to play football this season, suiting up for East Devonport in the Northern Tasmania league and finishing runner-up in the club best-and-fairest.
Hamilton was rapt to secure his services and add further quality to a rebuilt Reservoir list.
“Nick is a massive recruit, he played for me at Braybrook and in Tasmania, and he’s a quality ruckman-forward,” Hamilton said.
“We’ve signed him on a two year deal, which is huge for a club like Reservoir and he’s going to have a massive impact on Division 3.
“I’ve got a very good relationship with Nick, not just as player and coach, and it’s pretty exciting when you can snag a player like that.”
Gregson has also won Braybrook’s best-and-fairest in 2018 and was runner-up in 2019 under Hamilton.
The Mustangs have also announced the re-signing of several of their 2020 recruits.
Petar Pavlovic and Sam Edward have re-committed and have been named co-captains for next season, while Taylann Luckman and Ben Mowlam will be vice-captains.
Matt McIntosh (Daylesford) and Tasi Saleiva (Braybrook) are also confirmed.
Hamilton was looking forward to seeing what the likes of Jack Smith, Jayden Ryan, Jonah Taylor, Nathan King, Matthew Verduci and Tom Derella could achieve with a full pre-season together.
“We’re not going to take the easy option of buying a premiership, we’re trying to work for one,” Hamilton said.

“It’s going to take four or five years but that’s the process, we want young blokes to come in and build the club into a success.
“We definitely think we’re going to be competitive next year. We’re not putting a number on how many wins we’re going to get, it’s about building for the next two or three years.
“We haven’t got just one or two decent players down there now, we’ve got six or seven quality players.”
Reservoir will kick off the 2021 season at home against South Morang.
