See who makes the cut in our Riddell District mid-season Team of the Year
This weekend marks the mid-way point of the Riddell District season so we’ve brought together some of the best talent in our mid-season Team of the Year.
Riddell
Don't miss out on the headlines from Riddell. Followed categories will be added to My News.
We’ve reached the traditional half-way mark of the Riddell District season, the King’s Birthday long weekend.
To mark the occasion we’ve brought together some of the biggest talents in the competition in our mid-season Team of the Year.
Diggers Rest and Woodend-Hesket have been the two standout teams in the opening eight weeks.
As such, they boast the most representatives with four players apiece, while reigning premier Riddell and Wallan have three players selected.
The quartet could have had more but unlike the end-of-season Team of the Year we’ve tried to recognise every team in the competition.
Cain Shaw has been a shining light in another tough campaign for the Rams, earning four mentions in the best in six appearances.
This season has seen an influx of exciting talent and that’s reflected in our selected 22.
Diggers duo Mark Orr and Jaycob Hickey, Romsey’s Jaxson Kinnear, Macedon’s Hamish Govan, Melton Centrals pair Dylan Jobson and Will Thornton-Gielen are all new.
Ethan Minns and Daniel Toman have returned to Woodend-Hesket, while Haydn Ross is back at Riddell.
Have we missed anyone? Check out the team below.
