Emerald unleashed the most dominant 30 minutes of football in Outer East Division 1 this season when it kicked 12.1 to Officer’s nil in the third quarter on Saturday.

The Bombers turned a close contest — they only led by 11 points at halftime — into a landslide 83-point victory, 22.4 (136) to 8.5 (53).

Officer’s winning hopes were gone with the wind; the Kangaroos only managed to go forward once in the term as Emerald ran rampant.

“They played some pretty good footy, the boys,” Emerald coach Sein Clearihan said.

Emerald’s seventh win was bankrolled by Callum and Mitch White, the brothers combining to kick 11 goals.

It was the first time the brothers had played together and they made the most of it.

“They fed off one another at times,” Clearihan said.

“Mitch gave a few away…he could have kicked more but he was pretty team oriented and set a few boys up.”

Cal White has kicked multiple goals in six of his seven games this season.

“He’s a fair footballer, he’s got fitter this year and I rate him very highly, and a good bloke,” Clearihan said.

Emerald had plenty of other contributors as it racked up its highest score of the season.

Adrian Russo, Dale Karacsonyi, Josh Rich and Lachlan Hoye were also among the best players.

Clearihan said Officer served it up to the Bombers before the third term avalanche.

“They were 11 points up at half time. I thought, geez, they’re pushing us here and then we tweaked it a little bit,’’ he said.

“The boys are doing the right things and they’re training hard, taking it each week as it comes, trying to fly under the radar.’’

Clearihan hopes to have Mitch White for “another couple of games’’ this season when his VFL commitments allow.
