Jean-Luc Velissaris (Aberfeldie, Essendon District)
The Preston Bullants coach, the Preston Bullants captain and now the Preston Bullants best-and-fairest winner. A three-time best-and-fairest winner. JL Velissaris was the Bullants since the VFL club went it alone and forged his name as one of the best in the competition. Played more than 100 games for Preston and earned VFL Team of the Year honours in 2023. Locally, crosses from EDFL Premier Division club Aberfeldie, where he made five appearances this season – including two finals.
Liam Mackie (Mooroopna, Goulburn Valley)
The Preston Bullants captain joins his Preston Bullants coach at Beverley Road. Mackie and Rohan Welsh reunite in the Northern league after two years together in the VFL. Mackie brings elite experience and leadership having also been rookie listed by Collingwood. He played 16 VFL games and was in the Bullants’ best 11 times in 2025, also playing one game for local club Mooroopna. He’s also played for Box Hill and Collingwood at VFL level and Glenelg in his native South Australia.
Sean Tyrell (Montmorency)
The talented young ruckman made his senior debut for Montmorency this season, playing two games. However, he spent the majority of the year with the Northern Knights in the Coates Talent League. The 200cm tall played 13 games in the elite pathway competition and has been invited back for 2026 as a 19-year-old. If/when he takes the field for the Bears he will be a valuable addition.
Matthew Kayrooz (St Mary’s)
Joins his brother James at Beverley Road. Made his senior debut as a 17-year-old last season. Mixed his time between the Northern Knights, ACC and Herald Sun Shield premiership-winners Parade College and the Burras’ under-19s.
Nick Canavan (St Mary’s)
A versatile 191cm swingman who looms as a savvy recruiting move by the Bears. Canavan played nine games and kicked 11 goals for the Northern Knights this season. However, he spent most of his time with Marcellin College in the AGSV, playing nine games, kicking nine goals and earning a mention in the best eight times. The First XVIII captain won the school’s best-and-fairest.
Ryan Stobaus (Echuca United, Murray)
The 20-year-old comes down to the city after a stellar 2025. The 194cm swingman was named United’s MVP this season after a second straight top-three best-and-fairest finish and club goalkicking title. Stobaus booted 35 majors in 18 appearances and was in the best seven times and will be a strong addition to the Bears’ attack.
Oliver Poole (Echuca United, Murray)
Another 20-year-old coming down from Echuca United, where he played 10 games and kicked 14 goals this season. Spent the first half of the year with Carlton’s VFL team, playing six matches. Poole represented Vic Country in the 2023 Under-18 National Championships, was selected in the Young Guns team in 2024 and also represented Bendigo Pioneers. A talented wing or half-forward.
BUNDOORA
Hugo Crawford (Morningside, Queensland)
The Brisbane Lions graduate comes down from Queensland after playing QAFL this year. A creative ball user who can make an impact off half-back or on a wing. Played six senior games for Morningside in 2025, as well as 15 in the reserves. Was named among the club’s best in its reserve grade premiership triumph.

Another who came through the Brisbane Lions Academy and represented Queensland at under-17 level. The high forward played three senior games in 2023 but hasn’t featured since. In 2024, kicked 17 goals in 15 matches as Morningside won the QAFL Colts premiership and he made it back-to-back flags in 2025 as he kicked 23 goals in 21 games to help the reserves win the title.
Lachlan King (Banyule)
Teams up with brother Brayden at Yulong Reserve. Injury restricted the running half-back to just two senior games in 2025 but had established himself as a senior player in previous years. Played 11 and 13 Division 1 games for the Bears in 2024 and 2023 and 15 at Northcote Park in 2022.
Ryder Jones (Macleod)
Was one of the heartbreak stories at Macleod last year, playing 18 of 21 games before missing the club’s grand final. Also played all 18 games as the Kangas were relegated in 2024. The developing tall returns to Division 1 football with Bundoora. Can play at either end and will add nicely to the Bulls depth.
O’Neill Moncrieff (Parkside, Western)
The Queenslander moved down to Melbourne in 2023, playing seven EDFL Premier Division games for Maribyrnong Park. He then joined Western league outfit Parkside, playing 16 games in 2024 and 15 in 2025. Spent the past two seasons on Richmond’s VFL list but is yet to feature in yellow and black. A hard-running midfielder or crafty forward.
Adam Swierzbiolek
The former Coburg VFL big man didn’t take the field in 2025. He last played for Eastern Premier Division club East Ringwood in 2024, making 11 appearances. Daniel Constanzo (Banyule)
Comes across from Division 1 rival Banyule, where he played five games this season. Had a mid-season move to West Preston-Lakeside – where he was a part of the 2019 Division 1 premiership – knocked back and now becomes a Bull. Will greatly boost Bundoora’s experience and can play across multiple lines, making him a valuable addition.
ELTHAM
Liam Rushton-McCoach (Old Eltham Collegians)
The tough defender returns to Central Park after three years at Old Eltham Collegians. Rushton-McCoach served as Turtles captain for the past two years and was arguably the club’s best player during that time not named Brent Macaffer. Finished second in the best-and-fairest in 2025 and third in 2024, also earning Division 3 Team of the Year honours in 2024. Ready to step up and test himself in Division 1 football in 2026.
Ben Crick (Montmorency)
Brings elite speed to the flanks to Central Park, which will certainly boost the Panthers in 2026. Came up through the Montmorency ranks, making his senior debut in 2022, playing 18 games that season. Enjoyed a career-best year in 2024, playing six VFL games for Coburg and 17 for Montmorency, including the club’s Division 1 grand final. However, he made only eight senior appearances in 2025.
Ryan Gardner (Montmorency)
An elite defender when on the park but injuries have far too often sidelined him in recent years. Was an AFL Draft prospect after representing Vic Metro in 2019 before joining Northern Bullants in the VFL in 2022. Played 10 VFL games across four seasons as well as 39 for Montmorency since 2021 – including the club’s 2024 Division 1 grand final. While he returned full-time to the Magpies this year, he managed only three senior games.
Daniel Annetta (Watsonia)
One of the biggest recruits of the off-season. Annetta established himself as one of the best midfielders in Division 2 in the past two years and himself as a leader at Watsonia. A breakout 2024 saw the midfielder play all 18 games, kick 14 goals and earn a mention in the best 14 times. He would win the club best-and-fairest, finish third in the Coaches’ MVP and earn Team of the Year selection. A serious rib injury saw him limited to 10 games, not playing again after. Trained with Box Hill last pre-season and will chase a VFL opportunity again.
Toby Walker (Rupertswood, Essendon District)
A Montmorency junior who spent several years chasing a career in golf. Still a tour professional in Asia, Walker has also played in three Australian Opens. Returned to the football field in 2024 with Rupo playing a couple of reserve grade matches. Could be a handy addition in the ruck or as a key forward.
Damon Braby (Lindenow, East Gippsland)
The winger returns to Central Park after a couple of seasons away. Spent 2024 with Watsonia in Division 2, playing all 18 games. Then made the move to the country this year but managed just four games. Adds excellent depth to the Panthers midfield.
Khy Stovell (Moama, Murray)

Also coming off 41 goals in 16 NTFL Premier Reserves games over the summer. Will form a dangerous one-two combination with David Evans.

Stepped into under-19s at South Morang last season, playing 18 games as the Lions reached the Division 2 Under-19s preliminary final. Was in the best seven times in those 18 appearances. Massimo Nardo (Thomastown)
The 19-year-old returns to Epping Reserve having made his senior debut as a 17-year-old for the Pingers in 2022. Nardo has spent the last three years at Thomastown, where he made five senior appearances in 2025. He was also a key part of the Bears’ reserves, which made a preliminary final. Can play midfield or in defence, adding critical flexibility to the Epping squad.
Louis Circosta (South Morang)
Arrives from South Morang, where he was a part of the club’s impressive reserve grade team, which against the odds played finals despite the senior team finishing last. The talented defender is now looking to step up to senior football at Epping Reserve. Has a strong grounding having come through the Greensborough under-19s, where he played in a Division 1 premiership in 2023.
Kaiden Burns (South Morang)

Returns to Epping Reserve looking to make a full-time jump to senior footy.
Kieren Jaksic (Boort, North Central)
The former North Heidelberg tall returns from a stint in country footy at Boort. Played 14 games this season and helped the club play finals. He played 12 senior games for North Heidelberg in 2023. Returns to the Northern league with Epping, where he’ll slot into a key position roll at either end of the ground.
FITZROY STARS
Max Brown (Heidelberg West)
One of the top young talents in the Northern league will significantly bolster the Stars’ backline as the club returns to Division 2 in 2026. The talented midfielder played in back-to-back Wimmera league deciders with Southern Mallee the past two years and featured for Jeparit Rainbow in the Horsham District grand final in 2023. The one win came with Southern Districts, claiming the 2025 Northern Territory Premier Division title. Played a handful of games with EDFL club Essendon Doutta Stars in 2022 and represented the NT in the Coates League in 2021.
Nick O’Neill (Nyah Nyah West United, Central Murray)
Makes the long trip down from Nyah-Nyah West United, where he was a Central Murray premiership-winning player and coach in 2024. Played 17 games and kicked 21 goals to guide the back to the grand final this season but couldn’t make it back-to-back. Also has a CMFNL flag under his belt with Woorinen in 2019.
GREENSBOROUGH
Blake Watson (Whittlesea)
A huge get for the Borough, luring the Sandringham VFL captain to War Memorial Reserve, but he will remain VFL-committed as the Zebras embark on a standalone VFL campaign in 2026. Injury interrupted his 2025 season, limiting the tough midfielder to seven VFL appearances. He qualified for local finals with Whittlesea and featured in the club’s qualifying, semi and preliminary finals. Won the Eagles’ best-and-fairest and Division 1 Team of the Year honours as a 21-year-old in 2021. Crowned Sandringham’s Most Courageous in 2022, 2024 and 2025, along with Most Determined in 2024.

The ex-AFL star pops up at Memorial Oval as assistant to Dave Florance. Sherman is coming off a contrasting 2025. After starting the year as senior coach at EDFL Premier Division battler East Keilor, he departed early in the season, and joined Arron Bray’s coaching team at Riddell District club Riddell, helping the club win its second straight RDFNL premiership.
Liam Lucas (Powelltown, Outer East)
A fourth club in four years for the noted ball-winner. Was at Broadford in 2023, where he had a decorated stint, captaining the club and winning three best-and-fairests. Joined Avenel in 2023, finishing second in the B&F and spent 2025 with Powelltown in Outer East Division 1. Played 14 games last season.
Jesse Nelson (Wallan, Riddell District)
Will bolster the Lakers’ backline nicely, coming across from Riddell District power Wallan. The defender spent the majority of the year in the reserves, playing five senior games. Another Avenel link, having played 16 senior games for the Kyabram District club in 2024.
Braydon Hardstaff (Avenel, Kyabram District)
The third of the Avenel connection, reuniting with Lucas and Nelson at Memorial Oval. Hardstaff played 16 senior games for the Swans this season, earning a mention in the best in nine of them. Will bolster the Lakers midfield nicely, helping fill the void left by Bailey Robinson.
LAURIMAR
Jesse Donaldson (Eltham)
One of the best midfielders of the past decade. Donaldson’s decorated career spans more than 200 top-flight games with Montmorency and Eltham, winning best-and-fairests at both clubs. He was a member of the Panthers’ 2023 Division 2 premiership, is a Division 1 Coaches’ MVP winner, five-time Division 1 Team of the Year selection and Northern league representative captain. He reunites with old Magpies teammates Patty Fitzgerald and Steve McCallum.
Louis Fiume
Represented the NFNL as a 15-year-old while at Bundoora Park before crossing to Greensborough for under-19s. A member of the Borough’s Division 1 under-19s premiership side in 2023 and stepped up to the reserves in 2024, playing 13 games. Stepped away from the game in 2025 to concentrate on school.
Janus Waldron (Northcote Park)
Reunites with his twin brother Liam for the first time since 2019. Arrives from Division 2 finalist Northcote Park, where he played 17 senior games this season. A dashing wingman who can also swing forward or back, adding critical versatility to the Power line-up.
Liam Waldron (Epping)
Crosses from Division 3 rival Epping, where he played all 16 senior games this season, earning a mention in the best four times. Also played all 18 games in 2024 as the Pingers reached the semi-finals. Has Division 1 experience at Northcote Park and was a part of Eltham’s back-to-back Division 2 reserve grade premierships, named BOG in 2022 and kicking five goals in 2023.
LOWER PLENTY
Jack Chubb (Montmorency)
Had an outstanding 2024, playing seven games for Montmorency – including the Division 1 grand final – and 12 VFL games for Carlton. However, after signing for Northern Bullants injuries derailed his season and he ended up only playing just one game for the Magpies. Capable of playing key forward or midfield, which will be a huge boost to the Bears’ ambitions.
Flynn Davis (Banyule)
Comes across from Banyule looking for a senior opportunity. Played 17 reserve grade games in the past two years and kicked 18 goals, nine and six of those coming in 2025. Will look to slot into Lower’s attack and keep that goal-a-game average going.
MACLEOD
Zac Johns (Greensborough)
Makes a move looking for senior football after four years in Greensborough’s reserves. Has only missed a handful of games in that time, playing in a preliminary final in 2024 and semi-final in 2025. A line-breaking half-back, Johns looms as a nice addition to the Kangas’ defensive unit.
Darcy Taylor (Heidelberg West)
Made his senior debut at Old Paradians in VAFA Division 2 in 2023 before moving to Heidelberg West in 2025. Started out in the reserves but forced his way into the senior side mid-season and didn’t look back, kicking nine goals in his eight senior appearances. Will look to continue that upward trajectory at DeWinton Park.
MERNDA
Gary Moorcroft (Assistant coach)
A massive coup for the Demons with senior coach Brent Marshall securing the services of his old Bundoora premiership teammate and AFL star. Moorcroft stepped away from the game last year after more than 350 local footy matches and 1300 goals.
Andre & Emile Gill-Haimowich (St Mary’s)
The brothers return to Waterview Reserve after two seasons with the Burras in Division 2 and will be primed to make an impact at senior level. Both were part of St Mary’s Division 2 Under-19s premiership in 2024 and both made their senior debuts in 2025. Andre would play three senior games, while Emile made two appearances - playing alongside his brother - while also kicking 24 goals in 15 reserve grade matches.
Jono Sevas (St Mary’s)
Another member of the Burras’ Division 2 Under-19s premiership in 2024. He stepped up to reserve grade in 2025, playing 18 matches, including the club’s elimination final loss. Will be looking to crack into senior footy back with the Demons, where he played under-17s and 19s.
Bradyn Thomsett (Diamond Creek)
Youngster looking to step up to senior footy in 2026. Thomsett made his senior debut for Diamond Creek as 18-year-old in 2023 but hasn’t broken through for a second game since. Played 14 games in the reserves this season, including the Creekers grand final loss. Won an under-19s flag in 2023 and finished third in the league best-and-fairest. A good runner who is at home on a wing position or off half-back.
Josh Caputo (South Morang)
Made his senior debut for South Morang in Division 1 this season, facing Greensborough in Round 3. Played the rest of the season in the under-19s, making 17 appearances and kicking 29 goals, and helped the club reach a preliminary final in Division 2. The young forward also booted 18 majors in 21 games in 2024 as the Lions reached the Division 2 grand final.
Blake Burkby (Whittlesea)
Went through the Diamond Creek under-19s, kicking 51 goals in 19 Division 3 games and winning the best-and-fairest in 2024, before looking for a senior opportunity at Whittlesea this year. Had an interrupted season, playing eight games in the reserves. Makes the move to the Demons, hoping to add a goalkicking threat to their forward line.
Jeremy Gorski (Whittlesea)
A Division 2 reserve grade premiership winner with the Eagles this year, playing 20 of 22 games. Also played 19 games and kicked 21 goals last year as Whittlesea made a preliminary final. Now makes the move to Mernda looking for a senior opportunity and will add valuable versatility with his ability to play forward and run through the midfield.
MONTMORENCY
Daniel Keenan (Reserves coach)
One of the modern day legends of the Diamond Valley/Northern league, holding the games record with more than 400 senior appearances. Has continued to play for the Magpies reserves, playing all 18 games this season, kicking 14 goals and earning six mentions in the best. Shows no signs of slowing down and now adds reserve grade coach to his resume having served as an assistant to the senior squad.
Matt Clark (Tyabb, Mornington Peninsula)
Has spent the past two years at Mornington Peninsula Division 2 club Tyabb, kicking 48 goals in 17 matches this year. However, Clark will be better known to local footy followers from his time at Keilor. A member of the Blues’ 2023 premiership, booting five goals in the grand final triumph. He finished with 57 majors in 20 games that season after 68 in 19 in 2022, winning the league goalkicking title. A two-time premiership player and four-time Team of the Year selection.
NORTHCOTE PARK
Matthew Pearce (Traralgon, Gippsland).
Represented Gippsland Power in 2024 and played senior football with East Gippsland league club Lakes Entrance - debuting as a 17-year-old. The ruck-forward then stepped up to the Gippsland league with Traralgon but couldn’t break into the senior side, playing 14 games in the reserves. Steps up again, joining the Cougars, where he’ll be a valuable addition to the club’s key position stocks.
Liam Killey
Standing an imposing 206cm tall, Killey comes to Bill Lawry Oval from a basketball background. Represented Nunawading in NBL1 this year and Melbourne University in Big V. He’s also represented Australia in netball. An athletic tall with strong hands, he’s going to be hard to stop on a football field.
Charlie Fawcett (Calder United, North Central)
A North Central league premiership player at Calder United this season, playing nine senior games in his first season at the club. The dynamic winger had previously played for rival Nullawil. Won a Golden Rivers league under-17s best-and-fairest and a senior premiership in 2022. Incredibly, Fawcett played 16 under-17s games and 14 senior games in the same season to earn himself two medals.
James Charbel (Watsonia)
An elusive small forward who can also get up the ground and use his speed to break the lines. Spent the last three years at Watsonia, winning the under-19s best-and-fairest in 2023 before stepping up to senior football. Played 13 games in 2024, overcoming a serious concussion, and made another 11 senior appearances in 2025. Will add another dangerous element to the Cougars’ attack.
Patrick Vanin (Banyule)
The key defender played just four games at reserves level in 2025 due to injuries but had established himself as a senior player in 2024. Vanin played 14 senior games last year, playing every game from Round 3 onwards. If he can get his body right, he’ll be a major boost to the Cougars defence with his ability to read the ball and intercept mark.
NORTH HEIDELBERG
Shane Harvey (Under-19s coach)
What a coup for the Bulldogs and the young talent at Shelley Reserve, being mentored by one of the greatest goalkickers in local footy history. Harvey played six games for Longwood in the Kyabram District league, kicking 19 goals, five games in the reserves at North and mixed in some SuperRules action as well.

The son of North Heidelberg and Northern league legend Shane, arrives at the Kennel fresh off a 60-goal campaign and Under-17s premiership with Yarrambat. Has won back-to-back league goalkicking titles at the level. Is expected to play under-19s predominantly, under his father, but wouldn’t surprise to see him given an opportunity at senior level as a 23rd man through the year.
Justin & Jermaine Miller (South Gawler, South Australia)
Justin split his time between Central District SANFL Under-18s and South Gawler in the Barossa Light and Gawler league - playing both seniors and under-17s - and winning an under-17s premiership. Kicked 32 goals in 11 under-17s games. Meanwhile, Jermaine also won an under-17s flag, played senior footy for South Gawler and represented Central District at SANFL Under-18s level. However, he featured for South Australia at the Under-16 National Championships in 2024, playing three games and kicking seven goals.
Jamison Shea (Surfers Paradise, Queensland)
Follows in his father, Tim’s, footsteps in donning the red, white and blue. Shea joins the club as a playing assistant coach, bringing VFL experience at Gold Coast, Brisbane Lions, Southport and Footscray. Played five VFL games for the Suns this season, while also making 17 appearances for Surfers Paradise, kicking 15 goals and earning seven bests, in the QAFL - where his club reached the grand final. Played Northern Knights and actually made his senior debut for Lower Plenty in 2016
Mason Lafite (Macleod)
The two-time under-19s best-and-fairest winner at the Kangas is looking to test himself at Division 1 level and arrives at Shelley Reserve. The talented mid-forward made his senior debut in 2024 in Division 1 and got another taste of senior football this season, playing two senior games. Spent the majority of the year in the under-19s – playing 15 games in Division 2. Follows in his old man, Kristian’s, footsteps at the Kennel.
Jacob Wescott (North Hobart, Tasmania)
A New Zealand international in basketball, Wescott is now trying to make a name for himself in Aussie Rules. The 200cm big man travels up from North Hobart where he played two Tasmanian State League matches last year and won a premiership in the reserves, winning the club’s reserves best-and-fairest as well. Returns to Melbourne after 18 games for West Footscray in Western Division 2 Under-18s in 2024. A 20-year-old raw, exciting project player who could turn into a hidden gem for the Dogs.
Nick Matthews
The star defender returns to the Kennel after a year off due to work and family commitments. Was one of the most dependable players in Division 1 and a key leader at the club.
Played all 20 games and was in the best six times when he last took the field in 2024.
OLD ELTHAM COLLEGIANS
Jack Fitzgerald (Northcote Park)
The young gun returns to Eltham College in a major boost to the Turtles hopes of jumping back up the Division 3 ladder. Returns after one season with Division 2 outfit Northcote Park, where he played eight senior games and four more in the reserves. Played 94 senior games for Collegians before heading off, so will be looking to bring up game 100 early in 2026.

Claimed the club best-and-fairest award and finished runner-up in the league medal. An exciting addition to the club, capable of playing ruck, forward, or down back.
Logan Martin (Panton Hill)
The talented small forward comes across with new coach Steve McCallum after an impressive under-19s campaign with the Redbacks. Played 17 games and kicked 17 goals as the club made Division 3 finals. Finished runner-up in the club best-and-fairest and also added two senior games after making his debut last year.
Mitch Crapper (West Preston-Lakeside)
Brings some critical top-flight experience to the Turtles and joins his brother Joel. Was a part of West Preston’s 2019 premiership but injuries have cruelled his footy in recent years. If healthy, will be a major addition to a Collegians side looking to jump back up the ladder.
Reuben Thomson (Hurstbridge)
The 21-year-old promises to be the Turtles new spearhead. Stuck behind the likes of Joel Naylor and Bailey Jordan at the Bridges, Thomson is looking for a senior opportunity and will be a major addition to Collegians’ attack. Didn’t play in 2025 but is coming off a couple of very promising seasons at under-19 level. Booted 53 majors in 2023 before 16 goals and nine bests in 12 outings in 2024.
OLD PARADIANS

Josh Iacobaccio (West Preston-Lakeside)
Brings VFL experience from Coburg and Essendon and top-flight standards from West Preston-Lakeside and Pascoe Vale. Was part of Pascoe Vale’s EDFL Premier Division grand final team in 2024 before returning to the Roosters in 2025, where he played 10 games. Critically for the Raiders, Iacobaccio is a Parade St Damian’s junior and also captained the school’s First XVIII.
Mitch Kane (Heidelberg)
Makes the move to the Raiders after three years at Division 1 superpower Heidelberg. Leaves the Tigers after winning two reserve grade premierships. He was also a member of the club’s 2022 Division 1 Under-19s grand final team. Kane’s 2025 season ended abruptly in Round 8, in his first senior game of the year, and missed out on the premiership success. A huge addition to the Paradians’ squad.
Jesse Kane (Heidelberg)
Jesse follows Mitch to Garvey Oval after playing in Heidelberg’s reserve grade premiership this season. He played one senior game and eight in the reserves in 2025 after returning from a season with Tooleybuc Managatang in the Central Murray league. Brings elite leadership as well.
Connor McDonald (Tooleybuc-Manangatang, Central Murray)

The ruckman captained the Saints and is the reigning two-time league best-and-fairest. Played 16 games in 2025 and was in the best an extraordinary 14 times. Made his senior debut for the Creekers in 2021 but only played another four in the four years since. Nevertheless, brings experience from an elite environment, who will improve standards at Cracknell Reserve.
Jesse Callaway (Panton Hill)
Made his senior debut for the Redbacks in 2023 while playing for Yarrambat under-17s. Moved to Diamond Creek for the past two years, featuring in two Division 1 under-19s grand finals with the Creekers. The 22-year-old won the Division 2 league goalkicking award in 2024 with 57 goals, earning Team of the Year selection, and was in the hunt again in 2025 before a controversial suspension saw him miss the final three games of the year.

He would make his senior NFNL Division 1 debut that year. Played one senior game in 2025 and 18 in the reserves, including two finals. A nice addition to the Saints’ midfield group as he looks to establish himself as a senior footballer.
Angus Donat (Banyule)
Joins a growing country contingent at Binnak Park. Donat played Colts for Cohuna Kangas in the Central Murray league before moving down to Melbourne. He joined Banyule for 2019, playing 18 under-19s games – including two Division 1 finals. Will look to earn a position in midfield as he moves to senior football but is versatile enough to make an impact across the ground.
Will Rush (Banyule)
A developing wingman who spent 2025 with Banyule’s Division 1 Under-19s, playing 15 games after moving down to Melbourne. Made his senior debut for Central Murray club Woorinen in 2023. Will get a chance to push for senior football with the Saints in Division 3.
Luke Stone (Banyule)
Links up with his brother Nick at Binnak Park. A talented key forward, Stone kicked 22 goals for the Bears’ under-19s in 2025. Had moved down to Melbourne having previously kicked 60 goals for Goulburn Valley powerhouse Echuca’s under-19s in 2024. “Blessed with strong marking ability, goal sense, and athleticism” according to the club announcement.
Bailey White (Banyule)
The talented small forward is coming off an impressive 37-goal season, which saw him finish second in the Division 1 Under-19s goalkicking race. The youngster is looking to make his mark in senior football and is expected to get plenty of opportunities in a rebuilding Saints side.
Sebastien Tarczon (West Preston–Lakeside)
A solid get for the Saints as they step back to Division 3. Tarczon made his senior debut for the Roosters in 2024, playing two games, and added another five in 2025. The crafty small forward was part of West Preston-Lakeside’s Division 1 reserve grade grand final team this season and is a former club under-19s best-and-fairest winner.
WEST PRESTON-LAKESIDE
Phil Plunkett (Assistant coach)
A famous name in the Northern league having led Heidelberg to three straight Division 1 premierships and then helping Bundoora to a flag as well. Has spent time at Old Paradians, while it was in the VAFA, then Lower Plenty in recent years. Was an assistant coach at Division 2 club St Mary’s in 2025.
Nathan Long (Keilor, Essendon District)
The Leeton-Whitton junior played one game for the GWS Giants Academy in 2021. Moved down to Melbourne in 2024 and joined Keilor. Would be a key player in the Blues’ reserve grade premiership, playing 17 games, kicking 23 goals and earning 10 bests. He played one senior game. Broke through for nine senior games in 2025 but still finished the year in the reserves, playing in the Blues’ losing grand final. Would finish second in the reserve grade league best-and-fairest count.
Kobe Long (Keilor, Essendon District)
A Blues junior and Western Jets representative. The 21-year-old is 192cm and has elite skills for a key position player. Broke through for six senior games at Keilor this season but missed the senior finals and was part of the club’s reserve grand final loss. Played 20 reserve grade games in 2024 and won a premiership. Played 11 Coates League games for the Jets in 2022.
Jordan Formica (Mooroopna, Goulburn Valley)
A senior player in the strong GVFL since coming out of under-16s in 2016 but firmly entrenched himself in the Ones this year, playing 16 games, after nine in 2024. Played one season at Southern Division 1 club St Paul’s McKinnon in 2023, playing five senior games.
Giacomo Thomas (Essendon Doutta Stars, Essendon District)
Considered an AFL Draft chance after impressing at Calder Cannons in 2021. The small forward then joined Essendon Doutta Stars in 2022. Would earn a VFL contract at Coburg in 2024, playing eight games and kicking five goals. Returned to the Stars full-time in 2025 and made 18 appearances, kicking 33 goals and earning seven bests. A return to Moore Park after playing 41 junior games for the Roosters.
Archie Grant (Morwell, Gippsland)
Had joined Queensland club Labrador for 2025 but never played a game, instead taking the year off to travel and run a marathon. Last played 12 games in the Gippsland league in 2024. A 192cm utility, who can play key position at either end but also has the running power to play wing and be a marking target around the ground.
Michael Ercolano
A club great is back at Moore Park. A two-time Division 1 premiership player with the Roosters, Ercolano also has VFL experience at Coburg.
Aydin Dani (Banyule)
After having his clearance knocked back mid-season, Dani is officially a Rooster in 2026. Reunites with his brother Arben at Moore Park after both played key roles at Banyule. Started out at West Preston before winning a Division 2 flag with the Bears in 2022. A hard working, quick and skilful footballer.
Romy Noureddine (Coburg Districts, Essendon District)
After a one-season stint in the EDFL with Division 2 club Coburg Districts, the talented forward returns to West Preston. Played 12 senior games and kicked seven goals for the Roosters in 2024 and nine senior games in 2023, while also juggling time in the under-19s. A strong addition to the club’s attack.
Xavier Young (Aberfeldie, Essendon District)
Only 19 and 6’5, Young is able to impact games in the air and on the ground. A key player as Aberfeldie went through the Premier Division reserve grade season undefeated only to be beaten by Keilor in the grand final. Follows in his sister Isabel’s footsteps, having represented the Roosters before moving on to the Western Bulldogs’ VFLW program.
WHITTLESEA
Will Plain (Hurstbridge)
Returns to the Showgrounds after spending the past three seasons at Division 1 outfit Hurstbridge playing 31 senior games. A hard-working half-forward and a strong goal sense, Plain returns to his junior club, looking to help it return to the top flight.
Bailey Robinson (Kinglake)
Likely to be one of the biggest off-season recruiting moves. Robinson is one of Kinglake’s finest players in club history but makes the step up to Division 2 football with the Eagles, teaming back up with former coach Andrew Fairchild. Robinson is coming off a season that saw him win the Division 3 league best-and-fairest and joint Coaches’ MVP, win his club best-and-fairest and earn Team of the Year selection for the third time in a row. Played 124 games and kicked 134 goals for the Lakers, winning five club medals in total.
Jarrod Lees (Greenvale, Essendon District)
Still only 21 but one of the top goalkickers in EDFL Premier Division reserves for the past three seasons. Has kicked 121 goals without cracking a senior opportunity at the Jets. Finished 2025 with 53 majors in 16 matches including bags of 14 and 11 against Deer Park and Pascoe Vale respectively. Should get that senior chance at Whittlesea.
Tom Crowley (Greenvale, Essendon District)
Also comes across from Greenvale, 21 and 6’5. Unlike Lees, Crowley did get a senior opportunity in 2025, playing six Premier Division matches for the Jets as well as five in the reserves. Will add nicely to the Eagles key position depth, capable of playing in the ruck or as a key defender.
Cooper Beauchamp (Hurstbridge)
Made his senior debut as an 18-year-old in 2024 and has hardly missed a game at under-19s and reserve grade level in the past three years. Now looking to make an impact at senior level with the Eagles. The crafty small forward has speed to burn and a good goal sense. Turned 22 in October.
Riley Gaylard (Craigieburn, Essendon District)

BIG OUTS
Jacob Thompson (Greenvale, Essendon District)
The Northcote Park spearhead returns to his former club after two seasons at Bill Lawry Oval. Thompson kicked 70 goals in 27 games for the Cougars, earning himself Team of the Year honours in 2024 when he finished second in the league goalkicking.
Bailey and Ethan Derrick (Roxburgh Park, Essendon District)
The Derrick boys are on the move after their father Paul left Kilmore as coach. Bailey produced an excellent 2025 campaign that saw him play 17 of 18 games and finish second in the Two Blues’ best-and-fairest. At the other end of the ground, Ethan was one of the best forwards in NFNL Division 3, kicking 23 goals this year. He booted 37 in 2024 to earn Team of the Year honours.
Noah Wheeler (Eaglehawk, Bendigo)
The 2023 Michelson Medallist returns to the Bendigo league after two seasons with Banyule, although only one on-field after his 2024 was wiped out by a knee injury suffered in 2023. Showed all his class in his one true season despite being limited to 13 games. Was in the best 10 times, finished third in the club best-and-fairest and fourth in the Division 1 Coaches’ MVP.
Lewin Davis (Eaglehawk, Bendigo)
Started life at Banyule with a bang, kicking 17 goals in 17 Division 1 games and earning seven bests in 2024 but came back to the pack in 2025, limited to 14 games and kicking only four goals.
Oscar White (Eaglehawk, Bendigo)
A massive loss for the Bears, as the club’s reigning best-and-fairest winner. A career-best season saw him play 20 matches, kick 13 goals and earn 11 bests, helping Banyule play NFNL Division 1 finals for the first time. Played both finals, named in the best in the season-ending semi-final loss. Came from South Bendigo but follows his Bears teammates Wheeler and Davis to Eaglehawk in 2026.
Tom Howard (East Brighton, Southern)
Was one of Banyule’s best and most consistent this season, playing all 20 games and earning a mention in the best five times. Howard returns to his junior club in the Southern league after one season at Beverley Road. Played three years at VAFA club Old Brighton before that and had VFL stints at North Melbourne and Sydney Swans.
Jordan Wilkins (Gisborne, Bendigo)
The dashing defender is off to the Bendigo league, that’s if Gisborne agrees to take the field in 2026. Nevertheless, a serious blow to Epping after he earned Team of the Year honours in 2025 was likely wasn’t far off the year before either. Played all 16 games and was in the Pingers’ best nine times.
Adrian Alfonsi (Westmeadows, Essendon District)
The 2024 Team of the Year forward is off to the Eastern league in 2026. Booted 38 goals in 15 matches last year to earn Team of the Year honours and backed it up with another 21 majors in 13 appearances this year, named in the best five times.

Brings leadership and experience to strengthen Yea’s backline.
Damian Pywell (Yea, Outer East)
A huge get for the Tigers and huge loss for the Lakers. Pywell was one of the top forwards in Division 3 since Kinglake’s return from the Outer East in 2023. He booted 115 goals in 49 games the past three years, earning Team of the Year selection 2023 and 2024. Will bring elite goalscoring power to Yea.
Ben Giobbi (Maribyrnong Park, Essendon District)
A massive blow for North Heidelberg, losing its best-and-fairest winner. After being limited to five senior games last year, Giobbi was a revelation in midfield – playing 16 games, kicking nine goals and being named in the best 11 times.
Liam Hunt (Aberfeldie, Essendon District)
A serious calf injury saw him sidelined until Round 11 this season, limiting the star midfielder to just six senior games. Prior, he’d been a leading midfielder for the Bulldogs, playing 17 games and earning 10 bests in 2024, and winning the club best-and-fairest in 2023. Earnt a VFL contract at Footscray this year but didn’t feature. Joins his cousin Ethan at Abers.
Dane Whitnall (Greenvale, Essendon District)
Preston Bullants VFL listed in 2025, playing one game. Was cruelled by injury at North Heidelberg, playing five matches but featuring in the best three times. Played 11 games and kicked 13 goals in 2024 and made four VFL appearances for the Bullants in 2024. A strong key position talent when fit.
Brodie White (Craigieburn, Essendon District)
The former best-and-fairest winner returns to the Eagles after three years with North Heidelberg. Was a standout for the Bulldogs, finishing second in the club best-and-fairest in each of the last two seasons. Played all 18 games in 2025, kicked 14 goals and was in the best nine times.

Mitch & Deacon Kalpakis (Essendon Doutta Stars, Essendon District)
The Kalpakis brothers depart Mill Park Lakes Reserve together, leaving a gaping hole in the Lions’ backline. Mitch and Deacon were key members of Morang’s 2022 Division 3 flag and 2024 Division 2 title. While Mitch played 16 games this season, Deacon was limited to seven due to VFL commitments at Coburg.
Christian Mardini (Pascoe Vale, Essendon District)
The former Northern Knights captain is a South Morang junior but departs for fresh pastures after 13 senior games this year. Now standing 6’6, he would have been a handy player at Division 2 level.
Phoenix Spicer (Hoppers Crossing, Western)
Never played a game for Fitzroy Stars but was one of the club’s high-profile additions last summer. Was VFL-listed at Footscray but injuries limited the former North Melbourne small forward to just five games.
Corey Salvador (Sunbury Kangaroos, Essendon District)
A key player in Fitzroy Stars’ historic Division 3 premiership win. Salvador played 14 senior games this year, playing as an intercept-marking defender and creating bounce off half-back with his run.
Julian Janev (Parkside, Western)
A powerful inside midfielder, who came through the Northern Knights pathway. Was a key player in Watsonia’s finals run in 2023 before moving to Thomastown for the past two seasons. Janev was limited to 13 games this season due to injury but played 16 in 2024. Takes Charbel Khoury with him.
Xavier Dimasi (Seymour, Goulburn Valley)
The long-time Whittlesea captain has departed after seven seasons at the Showgrounds. Played 102 senior games, won a Division 2 premiership in 2019, Division 2 league best-and-fairest and many more club awards in a decorated career. Had his 2025 season cut short after a horrific injury saw him suffer multiple facial fractures in Round 2. Returns to his junior club Seymour in the Goulburn Valley league.
Dante Colosimo (Pascoe Vale, Essendon District)
The 2023 Division 1 Under-19s league best-and-fairest winner and 2024 Division 1 Senior Team of the Year star moves on for a new pasture after his 2025 was wiped out by injury. Was utterly dominant in 2024, stepping into senior footy and kicking 53 goals in 18 matches.
Lewis Tsourou (Pascoe Vale, Essendon District)
Established himself as one of Lower Plenty’s most consistent players in the past two years but now heads off to test himself at EDFL Premier Division level. Didn’t miss a game in 2025, kicking seven goals and earning six bests along the way. That coming after 17 games in 2024.
Jarred Seiter (Craigieburn, Essendon District)
After graduating from the Northern Knights in 2022 became a key part of Montmorency’s set-up. The speedy youngster played all 20 games in 2023 before an interrupted 2024 saw him make just eight senior appearances and miss out on the club’s Division 1 grand final. Played 12 senior games in 2025.
