Heidelberg will have some big holes to fill in 2020 if it is to again contend for the Division 1 premiership.
The Tigers were the only team to beat Greensborough during the regular season but crashed out of the finals in straight sets.
However, the club will now need to replace spearhead Sam Grimley, while Jack Blair has signed with VFL powerhouse Port Melbourne.
Heidelberg coach Frank Raso confirmed Grimley’s departure to VAFA club Uni Blues and, while he remains an aligned player, doesn’t expect to see much of Blair.
“Sam has moved on due to work commitments,” he said. “
“I think Jack’s got a role to play in that Port Melbourne side. He’s a dangerous small forward, but can also play a role as a small defender and through the midfield.
“I don’t expect to see him at all next year, I really rate him.”
Grimley booted 36 goals in 15 games this season but the club will still be well stocked with Chaz Sargeant and Josh Minogue kicking more than 20 goals.
There are also suggestions around about Mark Brunelli and Ryan Stone’s future at the club, but Raso is confident the pair will remain at Warringal Park in 2020.

Despite the loss of Blair, Raso believes a clear pathway for Northern Football League to the VFL is critical for the club’s future success.
Nathan Honey, Matthew Cecchin, and Fletcher McIvor will train with Williamstown over the pre-season to further their development.
Raso also listed Fletcher Carroll, Matt Cecchin and Will Goss as players capable of making the step up.
