Nell Morris-Dalton could be the next star power forward of the AFLW.
The Northern Knights young gun was extremely impressive in Vic Metro’s undefeated Under-18 National Championships campaign, kicking six goals in four games.
Morris-Dalton not only kicked a goal in every game, she laid at least one tackle in each game, highlighting her forward pressure.

The 176cm forward said it had been a great experience playing in the championships on the Gold Coast.
“It was a very successful campaign. It was a good time as a top-ager, we had a really strong side and I think we worked well together,” the Fitzroy junior said.
“We had about six or seven of us (Northern Knights), which was really good working with them. Especially, coming off a premiership.

“We know how each other play, so it was good coming into the team and made us all more comfortable.”
The Knights are set for a draft bounty come October’s AFLW Draft with captain Gabby Newton, Morris-Dalton, Britney Gutknecht and Sarah Sansonetti set to be highly sought after talents.
“Gabby Newton is very good with the ball, she’s very composed,” Morris-Dalton said.
“Brit (Gutknecht) and Sarah (Sansonetti) are also really good at attacking the ball. Sarah’s a great defender and Brit in the midfield.
“It’s looking pretty strong for the Knights and hopefully they can all do well and be successful.”
Newton averaged 18 disposals, four tackles and three clearances in four games for Vic Metro and is touted as the possible No.1 draft pick.
Fellow Knights Jess Fitzgerald, Ellie McKenzie and Alyssa Bannan also featured for Vic Metro but aren’t draft eligible until 2020.
Morris-Dalton is set to make her season debut with Darebin Falcons in the VFLW next week against Geelong as she prepares for the AFLW Draft Combine in October.
A North Melbourne supporter, Morris-Dalton said her marking and physicality was a strength while her agility and speed needed work.
“With the (AFLW Draft) combine coming up, if I can keep working hard I can get there,” she said.
“I definitely think my marking became a strength this NAB League season, presenting at the ball.
“I’ve got my set shot down pretty well and using my strength I can win a lot of 50-50 balls and being able to knock girls off the ball.
“I’ve got to work on becoming a bit more agile and a bit quicker.”
