Firepower, dash and experience.
Pearcedale’s latest two signings offer all that and more.
After kicking bags of goals in the EFL, Montrose forward Mitch Davis has joined Pearcedale, hooking up again with Peter Bastinac, who coached him at Montrose.
“He will certainly help us,’’ Bastinac said.
“He’s a very experienced player, kicked a lot of goals for Vermont. He’s a big fella, six foot three.’’
Davis also played with Vermont.
Carrum Patterson Lakes dasher Luke Frith (193cm) has also signed with Pearcedale, adding a shot of energy to the forward line.
“He looks pretty good on the track,’’ Bastinac said.
Pearcedale, meanwhile, was in the running to secure former Carlton and Brisbane player Mitch Robinson until he chose to remain in Queensland.
He’s signed with QAFL club the Morningside Panthers.
“We’ve spoken to a couple of the Brissby boys but Robbo’s going play up in Brisbane, he’s staying in Brisbane,’’ Bastinac said.
“He was going to come to Melbourne but he’s going to play in Queensland.
“He would have certainly set the comp alight.’’
Bastinac, though, said Pearcedale was still a chance to secure another ex-Brisbane player.
“There’s one guy I’m talking to,’’ he said.
“It would be a big one if we get him.’’
Pearcedale has retained most of its list from 2022, when it made finals for the first time in a decade.
But the Dales’ outs look like being Travis Bravo, who was talking retirement, and Glenn Anderson who has pulled the pin but will remain at the club as an assistant coach.
