Former Beaconsfield coach Leigh McQuillen wants to coach in the MPNFL, declaring he has the “hunger’’ to win another premiership.
The 42-year-old, who steered Beaconsfield into a preliminary final last year, has moved to Rosebud and is working as assistant principal at Rosebud Primary.
The former Frankston Dolphins player has more than a decade of coaching experience, including guiding Stony Creek to a premiership in 2009 and stints at AJAX in the VAFA and South Croydon.
He is passionate about coaching and developing footballers.
“I won a premiership as a playing coach at Stony Creek and last year making the prelim, you get that hunger to win another flag,’’ he said.
“I’ve got that zest back.’’
Currently there are two MPNFL coaching jobs up for grabs, with Hastings and Bonbeach needing new leaders.
McQuillen said he’s open to having “a chat and see what the best fit is’’.
“One hundred per cent I want to be coaching in the MPNFL,’’ he said.
“Obviously I’m quite passionate about it.’’
McQuillen has coached current AFL players Cody Weightman, Jake Aarts and Jonathon Patton in his roles as coach of the Victorian Schoolboys side and as a development coach at Eastern Ranges.
