MPNFL 2022: Finals venues locked in for this season

Five venues have been selected for the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League’s first finals series since 2019.

Five venues have been selected for the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League’s first finals series since 2019.

Both Division 1 and Division 2 football grand finals will be played at SkyBus Stadium, Frankston

The Division 1 flag decider will be on Sunday, September 18, while the Division 2 premiership will be decided on Saturday, September 10.

The lead up finals will be played across four weeks on grounds from Chelsea all the way down the peninsula to Rye.

The Division 1 finals series kicks off at Baxter Park — home of the Frankston Bombers — with the qualifying final on Saturday, August 27.

Baxter Park will also host the first semi-final.

Rosebud’s Olympic Park will hold the Division 1 elimination final, second semi-final and preliminary final.

The Division 2 finals start a week earlier, with the qualifying final on Saturday, August 20 at RJ Rowley Reserve, Rye.

Rye will also host the Division 2 first semi-final and preliminary final.

Finals action returns to Chelsea Reserve, with the Division 2 elimination final and second semi-final to be played there.

Meanwhile, the MPNFL Division 1 netball grand finals have been locked in to be played at the Frankston District Netball Association at Jubilee Park, Frankston.

DIVISION 1

Saturday, August 27: Qualifying final (2nd v 3rd), at Baxter Park, Frankston.

Sunday, August 28: Elimination final (4th v 5th), at Olympic Park, Rosebud.

Saturday, September 3: Second Semi-final (1st v Qual final winner), at Olympic Park, Rosebud.

Sunday, September 4: First Semi-final (Elim final winner v Qual final loser), at Baxter Park, Frankston.

Sunday, September 11: Preliminary final (1st SF winner v 2nd SF loser), at Olympic Park, Rosebud.

Sunday, September 18: Grand Final (2nd SF winner v Prelim Final winner), at SkyBus Stadium, Frankston.

DIVISION 2

Saturday, August 20: Qualifying final (2nd v 3rd), at RJ Rowley Reserve, Rye.

Sunday, August 21: Elimination final (4th v 5th), at Chelsea Reserve, Chelsea.

Saturday, August 27: Second Semi-final (1st v Qual final winner), at Chelsea Reserve, Chelsea.

Sunday, August 28: First Semi-final (Elim final winner v Qual final loser), at RJ Rowley Reserve, Rye.

Saturday, September 3: Preliminary final (1st SF winner v 2nd SF loser), at RJ Rowley Reserve, Rye.

Saturday, September 10: Grand Final (2nd SF winner v Prelim Final winner), at SkyBus Stadium, Frankston.
