Too good. That was Chelsea coach James Brain’s succinct summation of Red Hill after the Seagulls copped a 97-point drubbing from the rampaging Hillmen on Saturday.

Chelsea coach James Brain thought to himself, “we’re on today’’, after the opening 15 minutes of Saturday’s Round 8 clash with Red Hill.
The Seagulls were chasing their sixth straight win. But Red Hill was in another class.
Brain watched in awe as the Hillmen dismantled Chelsea, 18.14 (122) to 3.7 (25).
“They’ve got 18 blokes who are just well drilled, they just play that team footy, trust what they’re doing and I can’t imagine them getting beaten again, unless someone really has a day out and they have a bad one,’’ Brain said of Red Hill.
“They are that far ahead of everyone I reckon.’’
Chelsea lost key player Shaun Foster to a hamstring injury in the opening five minutes.
Red Hill had winners everywhere, with Harry Wynn-Pope, Josh Mold, Jake Mold and Marcus Dal Lago leading the way.
Jon Ross slotted six goals and Angus Paterson and Chris Irving three apiece.
Langwarrin made it three wins in a row when it edged clear of Hastings to win 10.15 (75) to 5.13 (43) at Lloyd Park.
Tim McGenniss played his best game for Langy, big Matt Naughton rucked all day and Billy Rolfe, returning from injury, set the Kangaroos alight with a superb first half.
Langwarrin’s side included Nick Tuddenham, back just eight months after snapping a patella tendon.
“For him (Tuddeham) to play senior footy yesterday and contribute on the scoreboard and get his hands on the footy was fantastic,’’ Langy co-coach Josh Beard said.
“We’ve probably had as many players available as we have had since we got to the club which is great. It’s obviously giving us some selection headaches but that’s a good problem to have.’’
Langwarrin key forward Jesse Murphy injured his shoulder and didn’t play after half-time.
At 5-3, Langy are on the up.
“I think we’re improving, there’s no doubt about that,’’ Beard said.
“I think it’s the first time this year we’ve really strung together four good quarters against a quality opposition.’’
For Hastings, Paul Rogasch, Todd Elton, Aaron Vinson and Luke Hewitt tried hard.
Karingal marked Luke Van Raay’s 300th game with a 106-point win over Crib Point, 21.15 (141) to 5.5 (35), at Ballam Park.
Fittingly, Van Raay slotted a great goal in the last quarter from the boundary — after a lace-out pass from his great mate Michael Burke.
LVR finished with three goals and was named in the Bulls’ best, along with Bryce Kellerman, Ryan Davey and Matt Stanley, who fired off seven goals. Marc Holt booted six.

Matt Ravenhall and Michael Altenkirch kicked 12 goals between them to fuel Tyabb’s resounding 92-point win over Pearcedale.
Ravenhall slotted seven and Altenkirch five, while Brayden Pitcher, Liam Rogan and Jordan Thomas starred for the Yabbies.
Somerville improved its record to 4-3 with an impressive 45-point win over Rye, 20.12 (132) to 12.15 (87). Daniel Marshall and Ryan Gillis kicked five goals apiece, while Tom Roberts, Nick Mason and Mitch Mantell and shining lights.
Seaford consolidated third spot with a 62-53 win over Devon Meadows. Damien Rayson capped a best-on-ground display with three goals and Aiden Fischer and Dean Kemble impressed.
