If Brendon Goddard wanted a football challenge, he’ll get it when he lines-up with struggling Pearcedale in the MPNFL on Saturday.
The Dales have lost five in a row and only kicked one goal at their latest outing.
Goddard will pull on the boots just a month after breaking his hand while playing a cameo game in Tasmania.

Pearcedale coach Boris Hamilton hopes the former St Kilda and Essendon star can provide much-needed guidance to the young Dales players.
“We lack a bit of leadership because we are young,’’ Hamilton said.
“We lack a bit of voice and direction on field so I’m hoping his experience will help our blokes stand up a bit and hope he can direct a bit of traffic out there to help us.’’
Pearcedale will host Chelsea, chasing its fourth straight win, at Tractor Park.
Goddard will be guest speaker at a luncheon also featuring comedian Austen Tayshus.
“The club has been working hard in the background to make sure everything goes to plan,’’ Hamilton said.
“I think there are 160 booked for the luncheon. We just hope the scoreboard can be a bit more respectable.’’
