AFL South East’s match review officer has dismissed a request for a league investigation into an incident that left Karingal defender Luke Farrelly with a dislocated jaw in Saturday’s MPFNL Division 2 match.

Farrelly was felled in an off-the-ball incident during the final quarter against Seaford.

The incident was captured on video.

On Monday afternoon, the match review officer completed his review and informed both Karingal and Seaford that Seaford player Brodie Scullly was in the clear.

“Upon review on the incident (Q4 12.09 to 12.37), the vision does not show any action by Seaford #1 (Scullly) against Karingal #19 (Farrelly), or any other player, that would constitute a reportable offence,’’ the MRO’s statement read.

“Following a Karingal mark, in the immediate vicinity of the set kick, Seaford #1 pushes off Karingal #19, due to the height difference the contact is to the stomach and mid chest.’’

Karingal banked its sixth successive win when it held on to beat Seaford by four points, 14.15 (99) to 14.11 (95).

Riley D’Arcy kicked four goals and Dale Alanis three for the undefeated Bulls, who named ruckman Agape Patolo and former AFL-Saint Tom Curren as their best two players.

For Seaford, Jack Lonie had 47 touches and kicked two goals in an outstanding display, while captain Damien Rayson and Scullly kicked five goals apiece.
