All good things must come to an end.

Emotions will be running high on Saturday when Mornington football legend Simon Goosey coaches his beloved Bulldogs for the last time.

Mornington faces Hastings, at Hastings, in the final round of MPNFL Division 2, and the Bulldogs will be desperate to send the Goose out on a high.

Goosey has stated he needs a break from footy after 28 years of coaching.

Meanwhile, Hastings coach Clint Einsiedel said his future at the Blues was up in the air.

“They (Hastings) were pretty honest mid year and said they want to have a look, test the market,” Einsiedel said.

“I said, ‘that’s fine’. In the end it’s their decision as a football club. Now I’ve got the option of either being a part of that or looking at other options.

“That’s about where it sits from my end. They’re going to potentially talk to me in the next week or two but that’s about all I know at this stage.”

Seaford coach Zac Vansittart is hanging up the boots after the Tigers host finals bound Devon Meadows on Saturday.

Vansittart, though, will continue as Seaford coach next season.

As a player, he’s been a reliable and courageous defender, playing in the VFL as well as a premiership at Bunyip.

Still in Division 2, and Somerville coach Brad Canavan has indicated this is his final season at the helm of the Eagles.

He will steer Somerville, third, in another finals campaign before stepping aside.

In Division 1, at least two clubs will require new coaches in 2023.

Nick Jewell has resigned at Rosebud and will coach the Buds for the last time next week.

Beau Muston will also finish up at the Frankston Bombers, but he will be hoping his tenure ends in the finals as the Bombers look to secure a finals berth.

The rumour mill has already started, with former AFL men Lynden Dunn and Chris Connolly whispered as potential coaching candidates in the MPNFL.
