Eastern Premier club Rowville is searching for a new coach following the shock resignation of senior mentor John Brown.
The club announced on Monday that Brown had stepped down from the role due to “personal reasons”.
He led the club for two full seasons after taking over at the conclusion of 2017 where he steered the club to back-to-back finals appearances across 2018 and 2019, finishing fourth with 12 wins in both years.
Season 2020 was set to be his third campaign at the helm before the coronavirus forced season shutdown.
Brown had coached the Vermont under-19s side for two seasons, having also served as senior assistant to Harmit Singh and Steve Cochrane at the club.
He also guided Forest Hill and Park Orchards and led Templestowe to a Division 4 flag in 2010.
The Rowville Football Club thanked Brown for his services.
“Due to personal reasons, John Brown is stepping down from his senior coaching role at Rowville Football Club,” the club said in a statement.
“We would like to thank him for the past three years and wish him well in his future endeavours.”
Rowville now joins EFL clubs Lilydale, Heathmont and Warrandyte in the search for a new senior coach.
