Laurimar continued its undefeated start to the NFL Division 3 season with a strong win over Kilmore
Bolstered by the addition of ex-Brisbane Lion Mitch Golby, Laurimar passed on of its biggest tests of the season, defeating Kilmore on the road, to continue its undefeated start to the season.

Laurimar passed a big test with flying colours on Saturday, beating Kilmore on the road by 35 points.
Sitting third on the ladder, the Blues loomed as a major threat to the Power’s undefeated start to the NFL Division 3 season.
And Laurimar found itself in massive trouble at quarter-time, goalless and 20 points down.
However, the Power responded after some “direct feedback” from coach Justin Sherman, piling on 10 goals to two to run out comfortable winners, 10.12 (72) to 5.7 (37).
Sherman was proud of his players’ response in the face of adversity.
“Apart from the first quarter — Kilmore jumped us a bit with three goals to nothing — we kept them to 16 points and we went on to score 71,” he said.
“We came out a bit flat, but we addressed that, and they (responded) straight away.
“Kilmore beat us on the spread and won the footy on the inside in the first quarter and then we turned the tables.
“I rate (Kilmore coach) Nathan (Phillips) and what he’s doing over there, I think they’re on the way up.”

DIV 3: BIG WIN, BIG GROUND BOOST FOR PANTON HILL
Kilmore has been a surprise packet this season, having not made finals since transferring from the RDFL in 2015.
Big man Josh Leather was outstanding for Laurimar while Jordan Wilkins impressed off half-back.
Dallas King kicked three goals while, in his second game for the club, big mid-season recruit Mitch Golby — Sherman’s teammate at Brisbane Lions — kicked two majors.
“We’re just lucky to get him down. He’s been terrific since he came in and had an instant impact,” Sherman said of Golby.
“An ex-AFL player to play a role up forward, not only is he impacting the scoreboard, he’s laying tackles and he’s a real leader.
“Josh Leather was awesome. He was the sole ruckman on the weekend, after we had Michael Brennan go down.
“The best thing about Josh is when he knows he has to step up, he does for us. I thought he was by far the best player on the ground and most influential.”
The tests keep coming for Laurimar with a trip to Heidelberg West this weekend, the Hawks coming off a surprise four-point loss to Eltham Collegians.
Elsewhere in Division 3, Mernda claimed a 44-point win over Reservoir and Panton Hill outclassed South Morang by 29 points.
