FORMER Frankston VFL assistant coach and Oakleigh head coach Jamie Mollo has been appointed at Red Hill, replacing Tony Blackford.
Mollo, who was part of Simon Goosey’s coaching panel at the Dolphins, has coached Oakleigh Krushers in the VAFA for the past four years.
Red Hill president Roger Siversen said he comes with glowing endorsements.
“Speaking with both Goosey and Paddy Swayn, they rate him very highly, they say he’s a terrific coach,’’ Siversen said.
“And having spoken to the president at Oakleigh he couldn’t speak highly enough of him.’’
Siversen said Mollo got the job after a “thorough process’’, including meeting with the playing leaders.
“They were all very impressed with him,’’ Siversen said.
Mollo has signed with Red Hill for two seasons and has already signalled his intentions to strengthen the list.
“He’s indicated he will be bringing a couple of blokes with him,’’ Siversen said.
Red Hill has won one senior flag, in 1990.
