WATCH: Former AFL star Gary Moorcroft has turned back the clock, taking a grab almost as good as his mark of the year from 2001.

MORE than 15 years after he reeled in one of the most memorable marks in AFL history, Gary Moorcroft is still reaching for the sky.
The 40-year-old still has plenty of spring left in his legs, as he showed for Bundoora during its Northern Football League Division 1 elimination final yesterday.
The former Essendon and Melbourne forward climbed onto the shoulders of Northcote Park’s Marty Hore during the third quarter at Preston City Oval, sending the crowd into raptures.
It was a hanger reminiscent of his effort while playing for the Bombers against the Western Bulldogs in 2001 when he used Brad Johnson as a stepladder at Docklands Stadium.
Bundoora coach Phil Plunkett has become accustomed to watching Moorcroft fly and rated his mark against Northcote Park one of the best he had seen.
“It was probably one of the best marks I’ve seen Gary take and I’ve seen him take a few,” Plunkett said.
“He was on his head. We had the perfect angle of it and hopefully someone will get some video footage.”
Moorcroft was just as effective at ground level, finishing with six majors as Bundoora triumphed 22.7 (139) to 10.13 (73) to book a semi-final against Greensborough this Sunday.
“(They) were just really good opportunistic goals,” Plunkett said.
Moorcroft is the leading goalkicker in NFL Division 1 this year with 70 and has already declared his intention to play on again next year for the Bulls.
He played 98 AFL games over a nine-year career, including 95 with the Bombers.
Last month Bundoora ruckman Matt Dennis said Moorcroft’s teammates marvelled at his enduring quality.
“He’s not jumping as high but he’s still jumping bloody high for a 40-year-old,” Dennis said.
