Triumphant coach Steven Kidd declared Narre Warren, “one of the best football clubs in Victoria’’ after the Magpies soared to premiership glory on Saturday.
The Magpies bid farewell to the Outer East league in style, claiming the Premier Division flag with an all-the-way 40-point win over Wandin in the grand final at Officer, 14.10 (94) to 7.12 (54).
Kidd was bursting with pride as he made his presentation speech.
“There’s a little emblem on our jumper,’’ he said.
“And Narre Warren is one of the best football clubs in Victoria — for sure.’’
His statement was greeted with a massive cheer from the Magpies faithful.
“We find a way,’’ Kidd continued.
“We do what we have to do. We stick together and we are so tight. It’s just a dream come true for me.’’
Narre Warren is moving to Southern league in 2025, and its final game in Outer East was a clinical display of ruthless football.
The Magpies claimed four premiership flags — seniors and reserves football, A and C grade netball.
