Two former AFL footballers are looking to make a return to their former local footy clubs as the clearance window draws to a close on Friday.
Jaryd Cachia and Levi Greenwood have requested transfers to Aberfeldie and Deer Park respectively with no more transfers between clubs allowed after June 30.
Greenwood is set to return to the Lions, where he played in 2021, after a brief stint with Balwyn in the Eastern league.
The former Collingwood played just four games under Brenton Sanderson with his last coming in early May.
He thrived at Deer Park last season, when the club was still in the Western Region league, playing 15 games and being named in the best on 12 occasions.
Meanwhile, Cachia is set for a return to Abers after last playing for the EDFL powerhouse in 2019 when they reached the grand final.
Cachia then made the switch to St Kevin’s in the VAFA where he last played in 2022.
At the time of writing, both clearances were still pending and neither were named for Saturday’s games.
Both clubs were contacted for comment.
