Just weeks after splitting with North Heidelberg, ex-AFL player Majak Daw has joined local footy power Deer Park.

Daw played 17 games for North Heidelberg in 2023 but his tenure at the club ended on March 27.

The Bulldogs made a public announcement that Daw “failed” to meet “the reasonable expectations and commitment levels that are non-negotiable”.

The 33-year-old, who is juggling footy as well as a role at Werribee VFL, took to Instagram on Wednesday night to announce where he would play this year.

“A couple of brothers playing together this year!” the post read.

“You can’t beat that!

“Not an easy decision but one I had to make, as the sun is setting over my career and my body is telling me it’s time shortly.

“I couldn’t help but go play with my brothers.

“To my previous club you hold a special place in my heart.”

Daw played 54 AFL games at North Melbourne between 2011 and 2020.

He joined Melbourne in 2021 but was unable to play a game and retired in 2022.

Deer Park takes on Keilor in its opening game of the season this Saturday.
