Julian Valentino, the coach of Oak Park’s under 18.5 division 2 men’s team in the EDFL, was banned for six weeks on two separate charges after facing the tribunal on Tuesday night.
On one charge, Valentino was suspended for four games for “behaving in an abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene manner towards or in relation to an umpire”.
He was handed an additional two games for “using abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language towards or in relation to an umpire”.
One of Valentino’s players, Eamon Whelan, was also handed a two-game ban after “using abusive, insulting, threatening, or obscene language or in relation” to a match official.
The pair weren’t the only individuals to face the tribunal charged with umpire misdemeanours.
