EDFL: All the signings of the 2023-24 off-season
The off-season is well underway for a number of EDFL clubs who have unveiled a host of recruits for 2024. Here are all the moves in our EDFL signing tracker.

Clubs are already making big moves ahead of next season with some guns joining the competition.
We’ll keep you updated on all the moves across the competition.

PREMIER DIVISION
KEILOR
Cody Brand: The ex-Essendon defender has been cleared from his home club Gisborne.
Josh Honey: Recently delisted by Carlton, Honey will play with the Blues full-time in the EDFL next season.
Stefan Radovanovic: The VFL listed forward returns to the club after a year away.
STRATHMORE
Shaun McKernan: The former AFL forward is seeking a clearance from Bundoora.
Trent Dumont: Landed at the Mores through a connection at the club. One of two ex-AFL names.
Coaching announcement: Nick Ash has been confirmed as the new senior coach of the EDFL powerhouse. Ash was a premiership coach with Rupertswood in 2019.
PASCOE VALE
Jared Eckersley: Set to be on Essendon’s VFL list in 2024, the dynamic midfielder was part of Gold Coast’s state league premiership in 2023.
David Gennaccaro: Returns to the Panthers after several years of battles in which he beat cancer and suffered two ACL injuries.
Tom Hofert: The ruckman has signed on with the Panthers after spending on Port Melbourne’s VFL list.
Jeremy Rodi: The 22-year-old midfielder arrives after a dominant season for Merebin in the Sunraysia league.
Jake Moorhead: The former Bendigo league best-and-fairest arrives from Strathfieldsaye. He spent time with Leigh Tudor in Essendon’s VFL program this year.
Mo Yassine: The VFL small forward is adding to what will be a stacked Pascoe Vale forward line. Played eight games for Richmond in the state league this season.
Ahmed Saad: The Panthers made one of the early big moves of the off-season after confirming the arrival of Saad from West Preston Lakeside. The former AFL forward will add plenty of bite to the club’s forward line.
Coaching announcement: In the space of one night, the Panthers confirmed Digby Morrell had moved on after five years in charge while Leigh Tudor, who has experience in the AFL system, was brought into replace him.
EAST KEILOR
Danny Lee Rigby: The first recruit announced by the Cougars in the new year.
Abdul Adbo: The latest recruit to be unveiled by the Cougars.
Mohammed El Souki: Crosses from Newport in the WRFL, while he also has top flight experience.
Michael Dalrymple: Another fresh face in at the Cougars who have been one of the busiest clubs of the off-season.
Robbie McComb: Recently delisted by the Western Bulldogs, McComb has elected to align with the Cougars when not playing VFL for Port Melbourne.
Tom Silvagni: The 21-year-old arrives from Old Xaverians in the VAFA and is able to play at both ends of the ground.
Tim Quick: Success follows Quick wherever he goes, having won seven local footy premierships. He joins Deer Park teammate Lachie Smart at the club.
Dean Roberts: Described as a “Cougars favourite” Roberts has returned to Overland Reserve.
Izzy Moussa: Formerly part of the Calder Cannons and Essendon VFL programs.
Mitch Havard: Joins from Point Cook in the WRFL.
Reuben William: Crosses from Premier Division rivals Airport West and will be available when he’s not on VFL duties.
Mark Nicholls: A premiership player with Deer Park in 2023, the ruckman is set to boost the Cougars’ big man stocks.
Aliyy Elmaghraby: Another fresh face at the Cougars as they aim for another finals appearance.
Lachlan Smart: A premiership winner with Deer Park, Smart arrives after kicking 66 goals in 21 games this season. He is also a Werribee VFL listed player.
Kamal Badra: Badra is another recruit from Newport in the WRFL. He booted 19 goals from 16 games in 2023 and was named in the best eight times.
Malik Elfkakahani: Described as a “young gun” by his new club, Elfkakahani has experience with the Western Jets.
Hussein Kadour: The young gun and Western Bulldogs Next Generation Academy arrives from Newport in the WRFL. He’s an exciting forward who knows where the goals are.
Tyson Old: The former VFL midfielder arrives at the Cougars after moving back to Melbourne. At 26, he finished second in the Sunraysia league best and fairest this season.
Nayef Hamad: The Cougars have added some firepower to their midfield with the arrival of Hamad from WRFL side Newport. Hamad was a standout for his former club this season as a regular goalkicker. He has also spent time with Werribee Districts and Altona.
GREENVALE
Ray Murphy: An inside midfielder listed by Werribee VFL for the 2024 season. Arrives from Deniliquin where he made his senior debut at 15.
Baker Smith: Aligned with Port Melbourne in the VFL, the Tasmanian is an intercept defender.
Josh Porter: Not a new recruit but the VFL forward has committed to playing full-time at local level next season.
Dylan Watts: Makes the step up from Division 1 footy with Tullamarine and is expected to slot in across halfback.
ABERFELDIE
Ben Ronke: The former Sydney Swan has joined Abers as co-coach. He will coach alongside Clay Illman.
Matt Williamson: Returns to his former club after two seasons in the WAFL with East Fremantle. Will slot straight into the middle.
Brodie Newman: Returns to his junior club after time in the SANFL with Glenelg where he earned a reputation as a strong key defender. Despite a strong junior career for Abers, he is yet to play a senior game.
Sam Medland: After two years away, Medland returns to the club.He has spent time in the WAFL and played for Woodend Hesket this season.
AIRPORT WEST
Connor Leeflang: Makes the move from Tasmania where he played in North Launceston’s run to the grand final last year.
Chris Nield: The “dynamic goalkicker” arrives after two strong seasons with Mooroopna in the Goulburn Valley league, where he won two club best-and-fairest. Also has eight years of experience in the Tasmanian State League.
Cooper Janevski: The young forward joins after being part of Parade College’s Herald Sun Shield winning team this year.
John Roumeliotis: The key forward has committed to a return to the Eagles after spending recent seasons with Doutta Stars and Maribyrnong Park. He played VFL footy in 2023.
Jed Brereton: The 200cm key position prospect is making the move to Melbourne. Has played Coates Talent League for the Bendigo Pioneers.
Matt Hanson: Set for a local footy adventure after retiring from the VFL with Werribee.
Tom Aylett: Returning to the Eagles after playing for Phillip Island in 2023.
Ahmed Zahraman: Joins from Pascoe Vale where he was part of the Panthers’ under-18 premiership team. He booted 65 goals in 2023.
John Delacoe: Arrives from Division 2 outfit Coburg Districts. Described as a player with “plenty of skill and football smarts”.
Michael Edwards: Spent the 2023 season with Deer Park but was not part of the premiership team. Will add plenty to the Eagles midfield.
ESSENDON DOUTTA STARS
Bailey Ryan: One of the competition’s most exciting talents has joined from Hillside.
Michael Kiraly: The utility spend time with Essendon’s VFL program in 2023 and previously played for the Bendigo Pioneers.
Noah Weihrauch: The exciting winger steps up to the top tier for a fresh challenge. Will play on the wing most likely.
Andre Laycock: Another young player set to join the club. Plays predominantly as a medium sized forward.
Bayley Overend: Arrives from Coburg Districts, where he was a previous best-and-fairest winner. Will play in the middle and up forward.
Kelton Overend: The key forward turn ruck arrives from Greensborough. He also has previous experience with Jacana.
Dylan Laurie: Arrives from Caroline Springs in the WRFL, Laurie also has VFL experience with the Northern Bullants. Can play in the middle or defence.
James De Virgilio: Has enjoyed plenty of success during his career and is expected to play a key role in the middle.
AVONDALE HEIGHTS
Jack Ziebell: The recently retired AFL star has been locked in to play at least on Anzac Day against Aberfeldie.
Joshua Browne: Has listed Heights as his home club, he has WAFL experience with West Coast. Will play VFL for Williamstown.
Myles Gollant: An intercept defender who crosses from St Bernard’s in the VAFA. Will play a key role in defence for Heights.
Patrick Payne: The key forward arrives from NSW where he played five games for the GWS Academy in 2023.
Liam Bianco: Crosses from Coburg Districts where he won a reputation as a midfielder with the ability to hit the scoreboard.
Brody Watts: Named in the Division 2 Team of the Year this season after a strong year with Sunbury Kangaroos.
Jack Stratford: The 196cm key position prospect joins from Old Xaverians in the VAFA. Moves across the ground well and can take a grab.
Benjamin Cass: Has previously spent time with Trentham and Coburg Districts. Can play at either end of the ground.
Daniel Gervasoni: Crosses from Watsonia where he earned a reputation as a goalkicking midfielder.
Danko Bzenic: Returning to the club where he won the 2021 best-and-fairest and was the leading goalkicker.
Caleb McPherson: Arrives from Albion in the WRFL. Will predominantly play in the middle while also being able to go forward and kick a goal.
Muharem Muja: A young gun who crosses from Noble Park. Expected to play as an inside midfielder.
Lachlan O’Hara: Spent the year with Uni Blacks in the VAFA after making the move from the state’s north. O’Hara is a 195cm defender, primarily used across halfback.
Tom Gleeson: After coming the return of Paddy Byrne as coach, Heights backed up the move with the appointment of Tom Gleeson as a senior playing assistant. Gleeson will add to Heights’ firepower up forward after ending his time as Coburg Districts coach.
DEER PARK
Josh Chatfield: Listed by Footscray in the VFL, Chatfield is able to play at either end of the ground.
Steve Georgiou: A key defender with plenty of ability to play on all different types of forwards. Has won premierships with Kyneton and Rowville.
Mason Crozier: A key defender who has enjoyed plenty of success in his career with premierships at Kyneton and Rowville.
Diesel Moloney: The former Western Jets captain has named the Lions as his home club for next year. He is with Footscray.
Jamieson House: Arrives from Launceston in the TSL and is expected to play as a key at either end. A three-time premiership player and state representative earlier this year.
Anthony Daw: The athletic tall will play a key role across the ground for the Lions next season.
Mutaz El Nour: Returns to his junior club, although he is receiving AFL interest after a strong VFL season with Richmond. Can play across all three parts of the ground.
DIVISION 1
MARIBYRNONG PARK
Brodie Romensky: The former premiership player is set to return to the Lions next season after playing in Sydney for the last two years.
Lachie Plowman: The ex-AFL defender has arrived at the club fresh off his retirement. Coach Brodie Holland said he could play in any area of the ground.
James Kayrooz: The young forward battled injury issues in 2023 after booting 50 goals in his first season of senior footy last year for Banyule.
Will Young: The former Adelaide Crow joins with the ability to play at either end of the ground. He’s recently played for Caroline Springs and North Ballarat.
Coaching announcement: Ahead of its return to Division 1, after suffering relegation, the Lions confirmed Brodie Holland would return to the club as senior coach. Holland has signed a two year deal.
WEST COBURG
Billy Abou Eid: Arrives from Sunshine in the WRFL.
Muhammad Saad: The former Burgers junior returns to the club from Airport West. He booted 28 goals in 15 goals for the Eagles this season.
Coaching announcement: Daniel Barnes has been appointed as Dale May’s replacement.
RUPERTSWOOD
James Fox: Re-joins from Gisborne in the Bendigo league where he played as a goalkicking winger.
Ethan Fitzpatrick: The Sharks have confirmed the return of one of their former juniors in Fitzpatrick. He enjoyed a breakout season for the Calder Cannons with Kilmore his home club.
HILLSIDE
Damien Cavka: The ex-AFL player joins the Sharks from Keilor.
Fort Caruso: A two-time Morrish Medal winner. Caruso arrives after a long stint with Greenvale.
Nat Caruso: Arrives from Greenvale in Premier Division and will add plenty of experience to the Sharks’ group.
Jake Gatto: Will add plenty of experience to the Sharks’ line-up with over 200 EDFL senior games to his name.
Habib Hosni: Expected to bring a high pressure game to the Sharks.
Robbie Castello: The former VFL star has joined the Sharks as a senior assistant for next season. He crosses from Keilor Park.
Coaching announcement: The Sharks have confirmed the appointment of the experienced Chris Daley as senior coach. He previously has worked at Airport West and Aberfeldie. Daley was the senior assistant at Hillside for the last two seasons.
CRAIGIEBURN
Taylor Griffin: Has previous senior experience with Beechworth and Glenroy.
Spencer Briggs: The mobile ruckman joins the Eagles from Watsonia where he was a premiership player.
Luke Scarpini: Returns to the Eagles after having a year off footy in 2023.
James Vulic: Set to return to the field after a horror 2023 where he consistently battled injuries.
Jesse Davies: Already a two-time premiership player with the Eagles. Davies returns after time away with Wallan and Heathcote.
Mitch Wilson: Arrives from Aberfeldie after previously playing for Epping.
Matt Noden: The mid-sized forward arrives from Sandhurst in the Bendigo league. He’s played several senior games in the last two years.
Luke and Nathan Reichelt: The pair cross from EDFL rivals Roxburgh Park as they join the Craigieburn rebuild. Luke won Roxy’s 2022 best and fairest while Nathan was part of the club’s 2016 premiership success.
Nathan Martin: Another new face after making the move from Whittlesea in the Northern league.
Tarkin Kunelius: The teenager arrives at the Eagles from Epping where he won the reserves best and fairest.
ROXBURGH PARK
Liam Bartolo: Another fresh face from Greenvale, Bartolo is a small forward with good goal sense.
Adam Smrdelj: Joins from Greenvale’s under-18s and will be a 190cm tall, key position player with a big tank.
Zane Terranova: Crosses from Greenvale where he played under-18 footy in 2023.
Adrian Lamanna: A premiership player with the Pies, he returns to the fold after a few years off.
James Bird: No stranger to the EDFL having previously played for Craigieburn and Greenvale. Returns to Victoria after playing in WA this year.
ST ALBANS
Tyler Bell: A senior regular with Shepparton in the GVL, Bell arrives at the club with strong versatility across the ground.
Reece Tompkins: A key position player who crosses from Deer Park.
Atu Bosenavulagi: Originally had signed for the 2023 season, the two-time AFL player joins the Saints.
Jackson Volpato: The former Hillside captain joins the Saints in a major boost to the club’s hopes.
Alex Tsia: The 2023 Western Jets captain arrives to add another exciting youngster to the club’s mix.
Brandon Coletta: In one of the biggest moves of the Division 1 off-season, the Saints managed to secure the East Keilor vice-captain. It comes on the back of a season where Coletta was named in the Premier Division Team of the Year.
MOONEE VALLEY
Ahmed Dabdoub: Able to play as a wingman or small forward, he joins from West Preston Lakeside.
Michael Diamandis: Joins the club from St Bernard’s and is expected to play as a small forward.
Jai Anderson: Another new recruit from Point Cook. The defender can play on opponents of all sizes.
Anthony Accadia: Won a reputation as an exciting forward at his previous club, PEGS.
Luke Brock: Crosses from Old Paradians where he played at both ends of the ground.
Andrew Robinson: Standing at 6’10”, the former Point Cook ruckman adds plenty of values to the Fog.
Harry Fry: The midfielder crosses from Aberfeldie where he played nine senior games in 2022.
Jason Denny: The coach’s son, Denny is a wingman who crosses from Airport West.
Luke Denny: Capable of playing in the midfield and up forward, Denny joins his father at the club. Arrives from Point Cook.
TULLAMARINE
Jake Long: The big name recruit of the off-season. The ex-AFL player was at Bacchus Marsh last season.
Mason Taylor: The 22-year-old half-forward arrives from Anakie after previously playing for Point Cook.
Brad Horgan: Expected to play as a high half-forward or crumbing forward, Horgan arrives from South Australia.
Taj McCartney: One of the competition’s most exciting youngsters makes the move from Oak Park after premiership success.
Nicholas Papakalodoukas: The 23-year-old midfielder arroves after a season with St Kilda City in the Southern league. Blessed with explosive pace, he won a premiership with Braybrook in 2022.
Michael Sikora: The former VFL big man arrives from Pascoe Vale in Premier Division.
Dylan Birdo: A former under-19s captain at Tulla, Birdo returns after focusing on boxing in recent years.
Luke Rowland: The big man joins from Essendon Doutta Stars.
Dillon Kane: The pressure forward will add some much needed punch to the forward half.
David Stretton: Brings VFL experience to the Demons and is described as being elite by foot.
Assistant coaches: Shannon Broadbent, Mathew Sacco, Jamie Albanis, Kirk Lang.
KEILOR PARK
Kyall Parker: Follows in the footsteps of his father who used to play for the club, he crosses from Sunshine Heights where he kicked 80 goals last season.
Anthony Franzone: Crosses from the WRFL where he showed he could play at either end of the ground.
Daniel Ruscigno: The youngster arrives from Keilor where he came second in the reserves best and fairest this season. He is a former under-18 league medal winner.
Zachary Steinhoff-Pino: Has previously spent time with Taylors Lakes.
Mitchell Meredith: Among a host of fresh faces at the Devils as they prepare for another season in Division 1.
Cooper Bryant: Has previously won a premiership with East Keilor and will add plenty inside forward 50.
Lindon Bektash: Arrives from East Keilor where he played regular senior footy in recent years. Expected to play across half-forward and on the wing.
OAK PARK
Paul Pascu: Marks a return to his junior club after spending time with Glenroy.
Oliver Aitken: Stepping up from Division 2 after previously playing with Coburg Districts.
Tom Lay: Crosses from former Division 2 rivals Coburg Districts.
Josh Ksiazek: Arrives from Glenroy where he played several senior games last season.
Liam Molloy: A former Team of the Year member, Molloy is back in Roos’ colours.
Joe Townsend-Booth: The former Aberfeldie young gun arrives back in the EDFL after a one-year stint in the WRFL with Spotswood.
DIVISION 2
WESTMEADOWS
Corey Mac: A former premiership player with Jacana, Mac will add plenty to the Tigers midfield.
Jordan Taglieri: The Tigers first signing of the off-season. “Jordan possesses high speed and agility which gave him the skills to be versatile across the midfield and forward line,” the club said. He played in the QAFL with Moreton Bay.
GLENROY
Tochi Oparaocha: A 190cm strong bodied backman who crosses from Watsonia.
Nasir Kodi: Arrives from Watsonia in the Northern league as a strong bodied forward.
Brad Kite: A 198cm ruckman who re-joins the club from East Sunbury.
Daniel Takle: The 182cm midfielder is joining the club from the VAFA.
Joel McDonald: Expected to add midfield depth after crossing from Kinglake in the Northern league.
Joseph Sophia: The 190cm key position prospect comes to the club from Pascoe Vale.
Ali Samie: A forward who crosses from West Preston Lakeside.
Aaron Kite: After a year coaching East Sunbury, Kite returns to the club where he played some Premier Division footy.
Dominick Lo Presti: The midfielder arrives from the Northern Saints.
Lachlan Woodham: The 181cm tall is making the move from Black Rock in the Southern league.
Kenny Lam: A new forward who makes the move from South Australia.
Zain Yassin: Crosses from fellow EDFL club Greenvale and is expected to play in defence.
Michael Adams: A returning junior who is expected to play as a key forward.
SUNBURY KANGAROOS
Thomas Eiszele: The former Tasmanian State League player is known for his explosiveness.
Brandon Smith: A ruckman renowned for his impressive tap work. Arrives from the Gold Coast.
Mitch Collins: Described as a hard at it midfielder, Collins arrives from Wandella.
Wayne Murphy: A premiership player with the Roos in 2012, Murphy is another midfield addition.
Jake Olivieri: Makes the move from Avondale Heights and should spend time in the middle.
Andrew Siekai: A strong key forward who has plenty of experience in Victorian country footy after previously coming from Queensland.
Riley Eales: Makes the move from Sunbury in the Ballarat league. Will also help lead the club’s fitness program.
Rocco Tripodi: In the last two seasons, Tripodi was a regular senior player with Avondale Heights. Will slot straight into the Roos’ midfield.
Beau Vowles: Had a year off footy in 2023 but before that was part of Tullamarine and Craigieburn teams that played regular finals footy.
Cooper Anson: The inside midfielder has joined the Roos from Heathmere where he was consistently among his side’s better players.
Mitch Johnston: The small forward arrives from Rupertswood where he booted 19 goals last season.
Tim Walsh: The Bendigo Football League Team of the Decade (2010-19) arrives for the 2024 season. In 2022, he was part of Riddell’s premiership team. Walsh is a key position player who can play at either end of the ground.
TAYLORS LAKES
Ben Spargo: Returns to his junior club.
Lachlan McMullin: Described as a great leader, he returns to the club after recently playing a higher level of footy.
Brandon Read: The ruckman arrives from Airport West to boost the Lions’ big man stocks.
Ben Weightman: The exciting goalkicker arrives from Mt Pleasant in the Heathcote District league. Was a member of the Bendigo league’s team of the decade.
Vinnie Schiavello: Part of Keilor Park’s premiership in 2022, Schiavello can play in a variety of positions.
Declan Wakefield: Crosses from North Footscray and will add further depth to the Lions’ tall stocks.
Connor Roach: Another ex-North Footscray to join the club, he will bring a dynamic element inside forward 50.
Shaun Ujcich: Spent the 2023 season with North Footscray in the WRFL, Ujcich will spend time forward of centre.
Matty Brown: Brown returns to the club where he previously won a premiership. He was also part of Keilor Park’s Division 2 flag in 2022.
COBURG DISTRICTS
Guy Clark: The midfielder joins from Fitzroy.
Jack Zivkovic: A forward who crosses from Keilor.
Lewis Johnson: Able to play on the wing and up forward, he joins from Fizroy.
Robert Maiorana: Makes the move from La Trobe University in the VAFA where he played as a small forward.
Jack Gusman: A forward who joins from Hillside.
George Fotiadis: Makes the move from Hillside with coach Charlie Denaro. Plays up forward and in the middle.
Connor Doherty: Joins from West Coburg as a flexible option across the ground.
Declan Doherty: Crosses from West Coburg and will play in the middle or off halfback.
Rusi Komaita: The big man has joined the club from Hillside, where he was led by the Lions’ new coach in 2023.
Aythen Kyriazis: Joins from Glenroy where he previously played in defence.
Pasquale Curcio: Formerly of Fitzroy, Curcio can play up forward and in the middle.
Madison Martin: Crosses from Maribyrnong Park and is expected to slot into the midfield.
Harrison Harbrow: The key back makes the move from country footy where he played for Newstead.
Robert Kernick: The second recruit of Charlie Denaro’s reign. The midfielder turned forward arrives from South Australia.
Tom Carland: One of the fresh faces for next season.
Coaching announcement: Districts have confirmed former Hillside mentor Charlie Denaro as their new senior coach, replacing Tom Gleeson.
NORTHERN SAINTS
Riley Houston: Before having 2023 off, Houston played all of his footy with Greenvale.
Abdullah El-Rafei: Played under-18 footy with Pascoe Vale this season but is now returning.
Ben Tenace: Had 2023 off and is now returning to Mutton Reserve.
Isaac Kako: Touted as an AFL Draft prospect for 2024, Kako will return to his home club. He will play alongside his brothers, Bronell amd Eliot, when not with the Calder Cannons.
Oliver Klemm: Sat out the 2023 season after previously playing for Tullamarine. Klemm will boost the Saints midfield.
Fabian Pennelli: Missed the 2023 season through injury and now returns to the club.
HADFIELD
John Burns: The key defender joins from Kinglake where he played over 100 senior games.
Sam Godden: The exciting goalkicking midfielder arrives after a superb season for Dimboola in the Wimmera league. Has a raking left foot.
Luke Hannah: The key defender arrives in the EDFL from Kinglake and will play alongside some of his great mates.
Jacob Polizzi: The headline recruit of a busy off-season for the Hawks. Polizzi is returning to his junior club as an assistant coach.

EAST SUNBURY
Brandon Yankovski: Joins from Burnside where he won praise as a strong defender.
Jaxon Madden: The young star on the rise joins from Merrivale. Will slot in across halfback and on the wing.
Sean Egan: The experiend ruckman crosses from Diggers Rest where he was premierships and best and fairests.
Jack Barnes: Brings plenty of senior experience to the Thunder with over 200 games for Doutta Stars, Coburg Districts and Mulwala (Murray league).
