Supporters of Dallas Keogh-Frankling, who died after collapsing at the end of a football match at Kyneton, have started an online fundraising page for his family.
The well-loved 17-year-old was laid to rest at the Heathcote Cemetery last week after a funeral at St Mary’s Catholic Church Castlemaine, attended by hundreds of mourners.
Organised by Cassie Berry and Scott Berry, to help Mark Frankling (his father) and Ashton (his brother), a GoFundMe page has been created with the goal of providing family members with a holiday.
“Dallas’ sudden passing has left us grappling with an unimaginable loss,” the page said.
“It is difficult to comprehend how such a vibrant and promising life could be taken from us so soon.
“We’d love to provide the opportunity for when Mark and Ashton are ready, to send them on a holiday.
“To allow them some time to rest and help regain the strength to return to their life at home without Dallas.
“We would be forever grateful for any donation, no matter how small, in order to support the family and give them something to look forward to.
“Side by Side: let us stand together for Dallas’ family and remember Dal for the incredible young man he was and the profound impact he had on everyone, fortunate enough to know him. “
The page, which has a goal of $15,000, has already raised almost $12,000 with football and crickets clubs getting on board.
Sandhurst Football Netball Club in Bendigo has contributed $1500 with Harcourt Lions Cricket Club providing $1000.
Keogh-Frankling’s Castlemaine netball teammates, in under-17, have contributed $500.
