North Ballarat’s search for a new coach is over with the Roosters appointing Clint Proctor for the next two years.
Proctor comes to the club with experience in the VFL, the Tasmanian State League and the Coates Talent League.
He coached Box Hill in 2022 and also served time as an assistant coach to current Hawthorn coach Sam Mitchell.
“I’m incredibly proud to be coaching North Ballarat Football Netball Club, a club with such a rich history and great standing in the community,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to working with the playing group, not just to coach but to educate and develop them as athletes and individuals, building on the strong foundation that this club represents.”
Proctor takes over from former Western Bulldogs coach Brendan McCartney who guided the club for the past four seasons.
McCartney coached the Roosters to the 2023 grand final and the finals last year.
He is now coach of Port Melbourne in the VFL for next year.
North Ballarat director of football Michael Ryan said after an extensive search Proctor was the best candidate for the role.
“We pride ourselves on the way we develop our players, particularly through the junior program and into seniors, and we believe Clint is well placed with his experience to continue to drive that for us,” he said.
North Ballarat will resume training in November and have already re-signed a handful of players for next year.
This includes reigning best and fairest Riley Polkinghorne, Jamie Quick, Isaac Carey and Sam Artz.
