Ballarat has made one of the off-season’s biggest signings, adding ex-AFL player Bigoa ‘Biggie’ Nyuon.
The 23-year-old joins the Ballarat league club after playing for Richmond and North Melbourne for the past few years.
In 2024 he played three games for the Kangaroos, averaging 15 disposals and six marks, before he was delisted.
The key position, 200cm player, who played for the Dandenong Stingrays, said he was excited to make a move to country footy.
“From the first contact with the club I was impressed with their professionalism and the off/on field support and culture they have developed,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to playing good footy and being involved with the club with my family and partner.”
Swans football director Phil Partington said it was a major boost for the club as it looks to build on 2024, which saw the team make a semi-final.
“We are super excited to welcome Biggie to the Swans,” Partington said.
“His athleticism, exceptional speed, and ability to take a strong intercept mark are some of his key strengths.
“And at 23 years old he’s just entering his prime years, so we’re super excited to see what he can bring to the field. He’s also a ripping person.”
Nyuon is the second signing after Tex Mitchell signed for the club last month.
