All the latest recruits in the Bendigo league for season 2025.

The off-season is well underway for Bendigo league clubs who have unveiled a host of recruits for 2025. Here are all the moves in our signing tracker.

The Bendigo league is sure to be busy in the off-season as everyone tries to improve ahead of 2025.

Can anyone stop Gisborne or Sandhurst, who have won two of the past three premierships, or will the Bulldogs and Dragons cominate again.

We list the signings each club has made in the off-season.

Note: Maryborough and Broadford have not been included.

CASTLEMAINE

Ronnie Fejo Jr: The halfback joins the Magpies with a wealth of experience at VFL and SANFL. He has played for Essendon and GWS recently and will make a move to Collingwood next season.

Jake Stein: The former AFL player joins Castlemaine after helping Gold Coast to the VFL title in 2023. Stein is a key tall who will provide a target in attack or valuable assistance down back. He played 20 games for GWS between 2017 and 2022.

Will Marks: The forward makes the move to Castlemaine from South Bendigo. He played 13 games last season for the Bloods and previously played for Birchip Watchem in the North Central league.

Patrik Balta: Joins Castlemaine after playing VFL for Richmond and the Northern Bullants. He also played for Airport West in their 2022 premiership win in the Essendon District league.

Coby Perry: The former Maryborough midfielder and coach will remain a Magpie for next year, but moves to Castlemaine. Perry was one of the standouts in a tough season for Maryborough.

Hunter Staples: The former junior returns to the club after playing for the Western Jets in the Coates Talent League and Fitzroy in the VAFA. Staples is a midfielder who played 14 games last season for the Lions.

Tom Myers: The key position player has moved to Castlemaine from Maryborough. Myers has played 23 senior games and in 2023 was the under-18 best and fairest in the Bendigo league.

Josh Eyre: Joins his brother at the club. The former AFL-listed player is off to the Magpies after playing for Collingwood’s VFL team this season. Eyre is a key position player who has impressed in defence during his career.

Aidan Medlyn: Joins Perry at the club from Maryborough. He played 22 senior games for the Magpies and is a defender.

EAGLEHAWK

Jack Donat: The premiership player at North Bendigo will become a Hawk for next year. Donat last year played for Cohuna in the Central Murray league and was among the best in seven out of 17 games.

GISBORNE

Tom Werner: The former Gisborne junior is back at the club after playing for Sunbury for the past few years. Last season he played 11 games in seniors, kicking three goals.

GOLDEN SQUARE

Harry Law: The former Golden Square junior comes back to the club next year. The forward has recently played for QAFL side Labrador as well as playing for Southport in the VFL. He kicked 60 goals in 28 games for Labrador.

Carson James: The brother of current Bulldogs player Brodie. James joins the team from Strathfieldsaye and kicked six goals in 18 games for the club last year. He is a midfielder who can also play on the wing.

Dermott Bell: Joins the club from Strathfieldsaye. Last season he won the reserves best and fairest in the league and will be hoping to make the step up to seniors in 2025.

Jake Maher: Returns to football after a couple of years. Maher is a former Williamstown VFL player and played for St Bernard’s in the VAFA. The new Bulldog is a midfielder who works hard to win the ball.

KANGAROO FLAT

Tyrone Downie: Comes back to coach the club after guiding Flat in 2012 and 2013. Downie is a former Gold Coast Sun rookie listed player and a premiership winning coach in the Loddon Valley league with Mitiamo. He has signed a two-year deal.

Sam Barnes: The midfielder, who can also play in the forward line, heads back to Kangaroo Flat after playing for North Bendigo last year. Barnes kicked 26 goals in 18 games last year in the Heathcote league.

Nic Lang: Another former Kangaroo Flat player returns to the club for next year. Lang played for Kerang last year and in 2023 and won a premiership with the Blues in the Central Murray league. The former captain has played more than 250 games for the Kangaroos.

SANDHURST

SOUTH BENDIGO

Alex Davis: Joins the Bloods after winning a premiership with White Hills last season. Davis is a key defender who has previous played in the North Central league and the Loddon Valley league.

James Davies: The forward has joined South Bendigo after playing for White Hills. Has averaged a goal a game while playing for White Hills for the past three years.

Tommy Brereton: Returns to the club after playing for the past two years at White Hills. Brereton is a midfielder who was among the best players in six of 12 games last season.

Josh Nitschke: Joins the club from Kerang in the Central Murray league. The midfielder is a premiership winner at the Blues and is one of a few recruits to head to South Bendigo.

Jack Fallon: Will co-coach South Bendigo next year. Fallon joins after coaching White Hills to the premiership in the Heathcote league last season. He is expected to be a player coach as well.

Troy Coates: The premiership winning coach at Kerang will join South Bendigo to co-coach with Fallon. Coates has won seven premierships as player and coach at Kerang, helping them to be a powerhouse of the Central Murray league.

Hayden Geddes: The young gun comes to South Bendigo from Donald in the North Central league. Geddes last year was the captain at Donald.

Kaiden Antonowicz: Returns to South Bendigo after dominating in front of goal for White Hills in the Heathcote league. In the last two seasons he has kicked 140 goals.

Callum Crisp: Is back at South Bendigo after also playing for White Hills last season. Crisp has played in Queensland and for Benalla and Myrtleford since last playing for the Bloods in 2019.

Macgregor Cameron: The ruckman returns to the club to play after playing for PINES in the MPFNL. He played 17 games and was among the best in nine of them.

Jake Rusbridge: Moves to the club from Bridgewater in the Loddon Valley league. Played nine games in seniors including a preliminary final.

Jesse Collins: Joins South Bendigo from Lockington Bamawm United in the Heathcote league. Collins has previous experience in the Bendigo league, playing for Eaglehawk from 2014 to 2019.

STRATHFIELDSAYE

Jed Brereton: Rejoins the club after playing for Airport West last season in the Essendon District league. He kicked 22 goals in 18 games and is a tall target in attack.

Sam Heavyside: A former Strathfieldsaye who rejoins the club for next year. Heavyside has played for Kerang the past four years and won two premierships with the club.

Jye Formosa: The midfielder comes back to the club after playing for Longwood in the Kyabram league. Formosa won the best and fairest at the club the past two seasons.

Jordan Wilson: Comes back to Strathfieldsaye after playing for Colbinabbin in the Heathcote league. He played 14 games, including finals, and kicked 15 goals.

Zebb Murrell: Returns to the club after playing for Mount Pleasant in the Heathcote league. Murrell played for Mount Pleasant in the 2023 premiership win for the club.

Kya Lanfranchi: The former Maryborough player joins the Storm after the Magpies went into recess. Lanfranchi is one of the best defenders in the league.

Nick Clydesdale: Returns to the club after playing in the clubs premiership success in 2017. Clydesdale in recent years has played for Seymour in the Goulburn Valley league.

Darcy Hogan: Comes back to the club after playing with Inglewood in the Loddon Valley league. In 2022 he played 13 games with the club.

Hunter Lawrence: Is back at Strathfieldsaye after one year in the North Central league with Nullawil. Lawrence is a premiership winner at the club in under-18 and seniors.

Harry Welch: Returns to the club after playing for Imperial in the Sunraysia league. Welch spent last year out with injury and returns to football in 2025. He is a former under-18 captain and best and fairest winner with Strathfieldsaye.
