Cranbourne marked its first game at its brand new Livingston Reserve home with a goal blitz in AFL Outer East Premier division on Saturday.

Superboot Marc Holt fired off seven goals as the Eagles thrashed Wandin by 138 points, 25.17 (167) to 4.5 (29).

Mitch Tharle grabbed his own piece of history by slotting the first goal on the new oval a few minutes after the start.

Cranbourne made itself really at home, piling on 12.3 to nil in the final term as the floodgates swung open.

Cranny had multiple avenues to goal, with Ryan Jones kicking five, Tharle and Jarryd Barker four apiece and Luke Bee-Hugo and Matthew Alister two each.

“We clearly wanted to kick our new ground off with a good win,” Cranbourne coach Steve O’Brien said.

“It was good to get on our deck and get a really good win. Hopefully it’s the first of many in that ground.”

O’Brien said the vast expanses of Livingston Reserve suit his side’s running game.

“She’s a real big ground so it’s going to have the potential to be a high scoring ground,” he said.

“If you can get it out in in the open and move it really quick I think you can score really highly, yeah for sure.

“We like to play the running game so we were pretty happy when we saw the size of the ground. We think it will suit us.”

Luca Bellinvia made the most of an opportunity in the Cranbourne midfield with an outstanding display, while defender Dillan Bass was rock solid for the 3-1 Cranbourne.

“It was a bit of a new role for Luca and we thought he stood up really well,” O’Brien said.

“He showed us that he’s capable of playing that which is great for him, it gives him a lot of flexibility.

“And Dill Bass is having a really good season in the back half.”
