Lara Scarrott: Mildura hairdresser charged over alleged drug trafficking

A Mildura woman has faced court after echo task force detectives charged her with drug trafficking offences.

A Mildura hairdresser facing drug trafficking charges has had her case adjourned to allow her to undergo a detox program.

Lara Scarrott’s case was adjourned at Mildura Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday to allow her to undergo a detox program at Mildura Base Public Hospital.

Scarrott is facing two charges of alleged drug trafficking.

It is alleged that in October last year Scarrott was busted by echo task force detectives trafficking cocaine and in October detectives allegedly caught her trafficking methamphetamine.

The magistrate said on Tuesday that the charges she was facing were of a “serious” nature but Scarrott’s defence asked the court for the adjournment to give Scarrott the opportunity to detox.

Scarrott’s case is due to return to court later next month.
