A regional community is in shock after their beloved alpaca was shot dead.
Freddy, the alpaca, was shot dead near the boundary of his house in Lake Albert.
The alpaca was quenching his thirst by drinking water from a dam near the boundary of the property.
The NSW police believe he was shot from Mitchell Rd in Lake Albert — southeast of Wagga Wagga.
“Freddy lived on a farm and was cared for and loved by clients and community members at a disability service,” a police spokesman said.
The local community who loved Freddy is devastated and took to social media to express their anger and grief.
“That’s absolutely disgraceful! What is wrong with some people?” Lexie Lou wrote.
The police are urging residents or passers-by who saw or heard anything suspicious on Saturday night to come forward.
