Police have smashed an “elaborate organised criminal enterprise” — and seized a pet snake — after raids in Mordialloc and Lilydale.
A large quantity of steroids, ecstasy and prescription medication, estimated to have a street value of $100,000, was allegedly found at a White St, Mordialloc home yesterday (Thursday, June 13).
It’s also alleged police discovered a large quantity of cash, a handgun and a carpet python at the same address.
Police also seized an “extensive array” of glassware, laboratory equipment and chemicals from a storage unit on Maroondah Highway, Lilydale.
The raids were conducted as part of Operation Armstrong, launched after Croydon Divisional Tasking Unit officers discovered a large scale steroid production and distribution racket was operating in the south eastern and eastern suburbs.
A 24-year-old Mordialloc woman was arrested and charged with numerous drug-related offences.
She was bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on November 14.

Croydon Divisional Tasking Unit Sergeant Ell McGibbony said the result was a win for the community.
“(Thursday’s) warrants have led us to the discovery of an elaborate organised criminal enterprise responsible for large scale underground steroid manufacturing and distribution across the country,” Sgt McGibbony said.
“This is the second operation of its type for our office in as many weeks and it marks a significant win for both Victoria Police and the wider community.”
