A once high-flying amateur footy player is behind bars after it’s alleged he operated a St Kilda meth trafficking racket.
A one-time goalkicking amateur football machine is behind bars after he allegedly ran a meth trafficking racket in St Kilda.
Thomas ‘Tommy’ Candy, 32, fronted Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday charged with trafficking meth and possessing drugs including illicit testosterone.
Candy was allegedly nabbed with a bevy of drugs at St Kilda on October 25 last year.
It’s alleged Candy was nabbed with meth, Xanax, valium, 62 Ritalin tablets, $1955 cash and testosterone replacement Sustanon 250.
Candy, of St Kilda East, was also charged with dealing with property and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
Candy, who was once a promising amateur leagues footballer based in Melbourne’s inner south, claimed via social media to be a former Wesley College student.
Candy, who made no application for bail, remains on remand to face court at a later date.
