Seaford coach Ben Crowe said his side’s rampaging win was its best of the season.
“We always felt we were in the game,’’ he said.
“We seem to play really well on the big grounds. The boys take a fair bit more risk and take the game on more. It was a great win.’’
It was Seaford’s fourth win of the season. “When you’ve got no finals, it’s hard to keep the boys motivated and to come out and play the way they did was really good to see,’’ Crowe said.
Young Tiger Johnathan Haidon used his explosive pace to good effect while Matt Herbert, Josh Stokes and Aaron Walton, who booted two goals in a minute in the second term, were also influential.
Mornington coach Stuart Seager said his side’s 26-point win over Langwarrin was crucial as finals loom.on the eve of the finals.
Having lost two of their past three games, the Bulldogs needed to lift – and they did, leading throughout to win 9.14 (68) to 6.6 (42).
“It was a really pleasing win,’’ Seager said.

“It was just evident – our attack on the footy and the endeavour was there. That’s been lacking over the last few weeks.’’
With one round to go, Mornington, fourth, could still snatch the double chance.
“It was just crucial that we regain some form yesterday, and we managed to do that,’’ Seager said.
Seager praised the efforts of Warwick Miller and Paul Dadds in the backline, while midfielder Barry Smeeton played his best game for the season. Young Josh Halsall also impressed. Langwarrin remained in fifth spot. despite the loss.
