IGOR Hadziomerovic returned to SEABL on Saturday night and produced the match-winning shot for Sandringham.

Back in town after Melbourne United’s trip to China, the forward sunk a three-pointer with five seconds to go at Dandenong Stadium to gift the Sabres an 84-83 win over the Rangers.

Hadziomerovic finished with 14 points, four assists and three boards, import Jerry Evans (20 points, eight rebounds) top scored, while Jamie Batish (13 points) and Alister MacDonald (10 points) also hit the stat sheet.

The experience of veteran guard Nathan Crosswell (nine points, seven assists) was also crucial down the stretch.

The Sabres women enjoyed the bye and now turn focus to a clash with Frankston Blues this weekend ahead of the league-wide bye on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.

DANDENONG Rangers celebrated guard Amelia Todhunter’s SEABL milestone with an impressive weekend victory.

The Rangers posted a hard-fought 68-54 win over Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellence at home on Saturday night with Todhunter scoring 11 points in her 200th game.

Guard Aimie Clydesdale led scoring with 25 points, centre Lauren Scherf (11 rebounds, 10 points) notched another double-double while rising star Anneli Maley registered six points and five boards

*CLUTCH plays from import Chauncey Orr weren’t enough to get the Rangers over the line against the Sabres who prevailed in a thriller, 84-83.

With the home side trailing Sandringham in the dying stages, Orr (18 points, eight rebounds) levelled the scores then put the home side two points ahead with 13 seconds on the clock. But heartbreak was to come as Melbourne United forward Iggy Hadziomerovic sunk a triple with five seconds left to give the visitors the win.
