You can now order your favourite South Melbourne Market goods online and have them delivered direct to your door — even if you’re outside the 5km bubble.
South Melbourne Market Direct offers same-day home delivery or the option to click and collect, with a growing list of market traders represented in the online marketplace.
Freshly baked bread, craft beer, coffee beans, organic skincare, fresh seafood, chicken and meat and gourmet cheeses are available, as well as a wide selection of quality fruit and vegetables and pantry staples.
The website launched this month, with more products and traders to be added each week.
Market chair Jo Plummer said the site allowed people living outside the 5km radius to continue to shop for their favourite fare, providing much-needed support for small business owners in what has been a challenging year for them.
“We understand that not everyone can always make it for their weekly shop, particularly at this time,” she said.
“SMM Direct will allow the community to continue supporting our stallholders, with contactless delivery of product to their door.”
Delivery is currently available within 10km of the market — stretching as far as Brighton in the south, Brunswick in the north, Footscray in the west and all the suburbs in between.
The market is open on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
If you order before 12pm your delivery will arrive on the same day.
